What is the popular graphic design style now? In half a year, the students of "Yeluzi" presented the unique style of six graphic design works, and won the offer of world famous art schools with awards from SVA, MICA, CCA and OTIS! Today, we are going to introduce this student of "Wild Road" in the style of graphic design works collection in detail.
With zero foundation, she has completed a collection of works with distinctive personality. She uses her own feelings, is good at observing and feeling, expresses her artistic thinking in a unique creative way, and innovates the style of her own graphic design collection!

Zhang, a native of Chengdu, is also a graphic design student in Natural Light Campus. She said, "Maybe because she has not received systematic art education, she seems to have formed some special" wild "styles, and likes to carry private goods in paintings, such as favorite stars, her own logo, or other irrelevant bad interests."
"My main job is painting. I will accept some commissions on the Internet to earn" small money "when I am free. My sideline is music arranger. I usually write music reviews to entertain myself. At present, I have painted album covers for musicians at home and abroad, and I have reached long-term cooperation with my favorite musicians."
Because of her hobby and zero foundation, she began to learn painting by herself. After coming to the natural light works collection training and systematic learning, she perfectly reflected her love for music and painting in the works collection, and gained the favor of many famous schools by using a variety of visual expressions.
Trainee of "Wild Road" in the style of graphic design works collection, training and creation experience of works collection:
Q: How long has your portfolio been in the course? How many projects have been done in the collection of graphic design works?
The collection of works has been prepared for more than half a year, thanks to the teacher's guidance, and has done six projects. Each graphic design collection has a different style!
The first graphic design portfolio project style: three illustrations (to be painted as album cover). They are the gods, ghosts, and humans in Chinese and Japanese mythology, and selected more classic images, such as the god of rice and lotus, the jade rabbit, and prajna, to put into the paintings. Chinese and Japanese cultures have always been similar but different. It is really interesting to see the same origin in different places.
The second graphic design portfolio project style: painting module, basic painting and so on. It can be seen that I really like the fox mask haha.
The third graphic design portfolio project style is intended to reflect the Cyberpunk feeling with small models, well Cyberpunk is indeed characterized by complex mechanical devices and colorful color matching, but as the number one player shows, the talent stars in the virtual world may only be the little boys in the slums. High technology and low life, anti human and anti Utopia are the original intention of Cyberpunk. So I tried to weaken the proof that people are "alive" and used puppets. Their entire stage is a computer.
The fourth graphic design portfolio project style is related to music emotion: music is the carrier of emotion. There is positive energy, of course, there will also be negative energy, and it will make people anxious and irritable to be filled by these energies without screening. It looks like it is in the infusion bag for treating oneself, but it is filled with nails and old garbage, like the continuous sound in headphones.
The fifth graphic design portfolio project style is about the illustration+cover design of aliens (or called Renwai). After getting used to the handsome men and beautiful women in fashion magazines, maybe you can change your taste and enjoy the style of creatures that are totally different from human beings. The beautiful creatures are not only human hahaha. By the way, because they are original creatures, they have added some eggs in the design, which is really good for free creation.
The sixth graphic design portfolio project style is more aboveboard than the first few projects that only add some eggs. This one is fair and aboveboard with private goods, XD This is a three-dimensional poster in memory of the famous DJ/musician Avicii. He himself suffered from serious depression due to too much performance pressure, and finally committed suicide. His pursuit of peace in life is like finding light in the darkness layer by layer. In addition, this silhouette is a tribute to one of his classic albums, "Stories".
Q: What are the characteristics of graphic works? Which project is your favorite?
Um In fact, the first project is the one I am most satisfied with. XD is also the one I draw most carefully. After all, at the beginning of painting, it is always full of vitality, and I really like Japanese mythology! (P.S. This project has been commented by respected seniors.)
Q: Which project is more difficult in the process? How does the teacher help you solve problems in this project?
It should be that the two involved in manual work (except for three-dimensional posters) are more troublesome than doing it. What is more painful is that they do not know where to start. When planning, their brains are blank, and previous ideas are overturned one by one by reality. The teacher helped me take photos and discussed with me how to proceed to the next step. Although it was not perfect in the end, it at least brought the project back from the edge of unrecyclable waste.
Q: How do you understand graphic design?
My personal opinion about this may be a little extreme, but I do think graphic design is a very commercial and practical profession. I chose graphic design for this reason (I had thought about illustration). And I prefer pure 2D things to photography and 3D modeling. For me, graphic design is practical first, (Relatively speaking) It doesn't need too many experimental painting methods and skills. Everything is open to the public. In other words, if you look good, you will be finished. But of course, you must accumulate and practice behind this!
I distinguish the works of self improvement from those submitted to Party A and those for everyone. Things I am not good at need to be tempered before I can show them to my dear "Gold Lord Dad". It is irresponsible for me to pull down the quality in order to try a new style. When I applied for SVA, I wrote honestly, When asked why I learned graphic design, I answered that in order to make money Maybe it is in line with the commercial atmosphere of SVA, or my poverty is obvious.
Q: Is there any difference between having classes in natural light and having classes in school before?
I am a very homestead person. From the perspective of learning environment, there is no difference for me. When I see me in the natural light, I basically sit in the corner with earphones to draw and play with mobile phones. I am not good at oral communication with others, and I am not good at dealing with other students, so I am like a ghost But the natural light indoor lighting is great.
Q: What do you think is the greatest help of teachers for the collection of works?
It should tell me how to plan and Layout of collection of graphic design works ! I watched the deadline approach day by day, but I didn't know what to do next. I felt very desperate at that time. The teacher of my graphic design portfolio has been patiently answering my questions and discussing solutions with me. He has played an important role in guiding me to do what I should do at every step!
Q: Suggestions on the style of graphic design works
For learning graphic design style It is good to keep calm, because carefully designed products may be ignored or even "rejected" by Party A at any time, so we should communicate more, try different styles as much as possible when practicing, find more authentic materials for emergencies, or take at least two good photos for future color absorption and reference.
Q: With so many excellent offers, have you finally decided which school to go to? Why?
Well, I've decided to go SVA University Although my original intention of going to America was to take root in Los Angeles, I really liked SVA, so I chose New York (but I would go to Los Angeles anyway when I was a graduate student)
Q: Can you share your feelings when you received the offer?
Of course, it was very cool. I looked at my mobile phone secretly during class (sorry), but I couldn't help crying out in class. When I returned to my dormitory that day, I was skipping. Every day when I didn't get the offer, I was anxious, couldn't sleep, and couldn't get down to painting. When I got the offer, I felt relaxed!
Q: Last question, do you have any difficulties in the application process?
No, I really didn't encounter any problems except my own. The teachers of natural light are very helpful! Thank you very much for your help.
The above is the interview of Zhang's graphic design works collection style creation. Only with creativity, thinking and love can he create his own unique works. The "wild road" style is not afraid! I hope that through today's interview and sharing, we can bring more inspiration and inspiration to everyone, and combine our own characteristics to create the most satisfactory collection of works!
