Entertainment Design
Entertainment designers are the core of TV visual experience, film, commerce, video game, animation industry and theme park. It has never been found before that creating new fields, new roles and new objects requires rich imagination, and it is necessary to understand how things are created and how to communicate with people who create these new fields. The entertainment design course of the Art Center Design College focuses on students' technology and creative things, which is a requirement for conceptual designers in the entertainment industry. Although entertainment design is a relatively new major, the graduates of Art Center Design School have become leaders in animation industry, video game, film and television industry. Alumni working nearby will be invited to teach as teachers and lecturers. In the first four semesters, the school will teach students to draw, render, mold and sculpture. At the same time, it will also let students understand 3D production tools. Finally, the school will teach students advanced courses in specific arts and expertise. The Department of Environmental Design focuses on all designs of space experience. In addition, students can directly shoot high-quality wide screen films of 16mm and 35mm, and can use the latest digital post production tools. This department adopts small class teaching, so that teachers and students can better communicate and exchange. Each semester, several chief guest lecturers from film studios and top film producers will be invited to give lectures. ACCD Product Design The course provides a solid foundation for design science, including human factors, manufacturing technology, and people-oriented research methods and design management. At the same time, students can gain a comprehensive understanding of material technology, global trends and sustainability by visiting the advanced research laboratory, CMTEL (Color, Material and Trend Exploration Laboratory). Through interdisciplinary workshops, students will apply technology to both commercial and non-commercial approaches. Through cooperation with INSEAD and Singapore, students can also deepen their understanding of business processes. Vehicle design
The challenges of the automobile industry have brought great opportunities to transport designers. The Department of Transport Design has been encouraging innovation since its establishment 60 years ago. This project provides the best educational environment for transport designers. Our courses emphasize important themes, such as sustainable mobility, in addition to appearance, comfort, safety and usability, and the impact of brand and product life cycle. Students can acquire skilled drawing ability and physical digital modeling skills, and also develop the ability to understand the structure, materials, process and aerodynamics of vehicles. Although our department has an outstanding automobile design civilization, in recent years, we have taken a broader vision of transportation.
