For recording, acoustic performance is strongly recommended, although MIDI performance is acceptable.

Candidates hope that DMA students who listen to the audition will show their abilities, and until today, they can communicate in all aspects of contemporary music. Candidates should submit the best three (3) works as part of their application, representing the widest possible range of ratings/tools. Large ensemble works are welcome, but not necessary. Please make sure to clearly indicate the title of each work. For recording, acoustic performance is strongly recommended, although MIDI performance is acceptable.

The conductor shall be recorded from the front so that his/her eyes, face, hands, gestures and posture are clearly visible. Please do not shoot any video from the conductor's back.

You should rehearse the theme in one part of the video and perform in the rest. Suggested allocation: 1/2 rehearsal, 1/2 performance. The acting element should only be the complete operation of the composition or action.

The selected excerpt should include a variety of musical styles and some technically challenging paragraphs.

The video should be accompanied by text files, showing the name of the conductor, the track, the date and place of the selected rehearsal and performance, and the ensemble. It should include a brief description of the ensemble type (for example, students, communities, semi majors, workshops, etc.). For the rehearsal part of the recording, please include the location of the recording in the rehearsal sequence. For example, this is the third of six rehearsals.

The lighting should be sufficient. If possible, the microphone should be placed in front of the ensemble to have a good feeling of the overall sound of the ensemble. Ideally, a separate microphone should be used instead of the built-in microphone on the camera. For the rehearsal part of the recording, the microphone should be placed near the podium to clearly hear the comments and instructions of the rehearsal commander.

Total length of film: 15-20 minutes; 30 minutes maximum.
