Rice University Shepherd School of Music, also known as Rice University Shepherd School of Music, was founded in 1975 and is one of the youngest music schools in the United States. Postgraduate degrees include: Master of Music (MMus), Art Diploma (AD) and Doctor of Music (DMA).

Application and admission requirements of Rice University School of Music
Shepherd Conservatory of Music requires to submit the following undergraduate application materials before December 1 of each year: application form (all applicants must also submit Les Writing Appendix), your high school transcript, academic evaluation of at least two teachers, SAT Or ACT scores, school counselors' recommendation letters, music teachers' recommendation letters, economic assistance applications and collections (including your recordings or compositions and music history professional collections).
Language: If your first language and teaching language is English, or you have studied English full-time teaching in high school or university for two years, you do not need to submit TOEFL or IELTS. Otherwise, TOEFL or IELTS scores are required.
