Of course, Dylan Students like painting. They studied in New Zealand in high school with a-level scores and good English listening, speaking, reading and writing skills, which saved a lot of time for later work interpretation and application. This is why she can complete the collection of pure art works for undergraduate students in a short time. Next, let's take a look at the experience of student D's application for studying in pure art for undergraduate students.
Q: How do you know about pure art? Why did you choose this direction?
My first "creation" of art came from graffiti in textbooks. When I was a child, I was able to paint the wall of my room in the same color as wallpaper to cover it. I found that I was very interested in painting and sensitive to color. After learning and understanding, I found that I was not dedicated to the pursuit of perfection in painting skills, Instead, they pay more attention to the emotions and contents conveyed by the pictures to people.
After reading the Story of Art with the recommendation of a friend, I have a deeper understanding of art and believe that pure art has a more ideal and broad development space in contemporary times than painting skills.
Secondly, art is produced subjectively, and the content is determined by the author's subjective consciousness at that time. The design is objective and needs to meet the requirements of the market. Pure art is not limited to the creative form of the performer, but also encourages the author to try various media, which is different from design. Design is not art, so design can not be created only according to the likes and dislikes of designers, and can not be created at will like artists.
A designer must have a strong ability to observe the audience and understand the needs of the design object. While art can be the study of a small number of people, and there is no object to be served, only the artists themselves decide the theme of the study.
I believe that learning pure art requires a deep understanding of social problems, human relations, modern society and art history, and continuous questioning and innovation of existing art concepts.
At present, although I can't tell every major event in the art history in detail, I have a clear context of past events based on my own understanding. And I personally believe that as long as there is still one human being on the earth, art will be the truth we will always pursue and explore.
Q: How to plan the collection time in a short time?
Time planning is to work with teachers to finalize all project themes at the beginning, divide them into numerous parts and implement them one by one, which is a dead line almost every few days.

Q: Have you ever studied professional painting?
The foundation of painting comes from the independent practice (doodle) in the art class when I was in high school in New Zealand and the YouTube video shared by the teacher. Most of the painting theories come from the books, Zhihu, and ins I bought.
Q: What is the change of understanding of pure art after coming to natural light?
The understanding of pure art has changed from a very illusory theory to a very logical question posing and answering, which I personally think is a very rigorous discipline.
Q: What is the inspiration of the work?
Many of my works were inspired by the artists Egon Schiele and Francis Bacon, as well as the Ronald Sigman Photography Exhibition that I went to Luhu to see at that time. I also reflected this in sketchbook, copied their works, and studied their character modeling and color. Because you need at least two sketchbooks and a lot of research to apply for undergraduate courses in British universities.

Q: What works are you impressed with?
The most impressive is the photography project PA, which mainly tells about the confusion and chaotic emotions of our teenagers at this age. I want to use this work to show its relationship with the body.
The inspiration came from the afternoon when I first basked in the sun when I returned to Chengdu. At that time, there was an old man squatting on the ground next door to wash tea in a smart and skillful manner.
Of course, I was also impressed by the difficulties in making photographic works. At that time, when I just returned home, I didn't have the right resources. I couldn't find a model. When I found a model, I refused to leave. Finally, I had to use hotpot as a bargaining chip to plead with a few friends around me for help. Not to mention post production after taking photos, find the one that meets the conditions among countless materials of a treasure of photographic paper, test the texture brought by different printing methods, and select the flow of the final product from countless random results.
This process also gave me a new view of art. In order to get the ideal visual effect, we kept changing materials. We took photos to the downstairs grocery store to look for printers. The boss was so disappointed that he returned to the study room with the finished products in his hands. He found that the ink was blown away, which was so light that it was scary. They also sneaked into the natural light office area in the middle of the night to change ink cartridges for printers.
Q: How can teachers help solve problems encountered in the work collection?
In the process of creating a painting project, I was once short of inspiration, and the rich teaching experience and relevant professional knowledge of Mr. Yao and Mr. Li helped me quickly determine the theme of the project.
Q: What is the greatest help to the works collection in the teacher's teaching?
The natural light teacher's teaching is very purposeful, and there are some skills that can make the theme of the work clearer, so that the interviewer can have a smooth viewing experience of the whole project, which is also not noticed in my own work preparation.
Q: How to do special proposition projects?
Like Kingston University Kingston University This school has requirements for the content of individual collections of works, and the title is 10photos of "things i like".
When I first got this application, I didn't know what to do. Teacher Li asked me to take some observational photos. Please refer to the content on the website of VICE China. So I found some photos I usually took with my mobile phone, which are scenes and landscapes in the streets around the country, and classified them into "Photos look by iPhone". At the same time, I put these photos in the works of Lunyi, Goldsmith and other schools to give the interviewer a comprehensive understanding of my cognitive range.
Q: Feelings of the whole collection preparation process
The preparation process of the collection of works is very fast, which also puts a lot of pressure on me, who has never limited the time for works before, but it also exercises my efficiency in making works. The attempt of new materials also made me re-examine the previous creative process and optimize my creative thinking.
Q: Interview experience of getting an offer on the spot
yes, London University of the Arts The two colleges interviewed together. The interviewer promised me Camberwell's offer at that time, and the interview was almost easy. If it is an online interview, pay attention to finding a quiet environment with good internet speed. Don't be nervous about the interviewer. Prepare your portfolio to deal with the interviewer's questions.
Q: Decide which school to go to? Why?
Finally, I decided to go to the UAL, not only because it was promoted to the second place in the QS ranking, but also because of the geographical advantages and disciplinary advantages of the campus.
Q: Tips for students
Always meet up your deadline
don‘t wait till the last moment.
The above is our interview with Dylan about his experience in applying for a pure art study abroad for a bachelor's degree in ethics. From the interview, we can see that Dylan has a very clear understanding of art and various categories of art, knows what he likes, what is suitable for, and is interested in exploring more different things, These qualities are her potential to become an artist. However, this is not enough for applying for overseas colleges and universities. More professional and systematic knowledge is needed to help her better develop her potential.
When Dylan came for consultation at the beginning, he showed some works completed in high school. These works are mainly photography media and are highly experimental, which shows that Dylan students have more contact with this media and are willing to challenge. But it also reveals her weak foundation and lack of exploration of other media. We know from her ambition that she wants to learn something other than photography, so we have developed an experimental and exploratory learning plan.
In the later collection design, the first part focuses on re combing the image experiments she has done. The first is to systematize her past explorations, and let her find out what she wants to express from the review process. Finally, a mature framework and technique will be used to reproduce the final work to improve the completion of the work.
Secondly, during the continuous exploration of photography media, I also trained Dylan to extend her experimental spirit to other media. Through the discussion on the course, we selected a series of relatively representative daily materials, such as wire brushes, sponges, glass, stockings, etc., and asked her to repeatedly use these materials for sculpture. Through repeated practice, she gradually formed a relatively formed idea, and then explored new media, such as balloons, cement, etc. Although not all of these materials were used in the final works of Project 2, she mastered the technology of using these materials in the early practical exploration and used them in the third project.
