College Profile

Emerson College (Emerson College) was founded in 1880 as a small school to teach public speech and debate. For a long time, Emerson College (Boston) has enjoyed a reputation for its professional leadership. The main campus of Emerson College is located in the theater area in the center of Boston, the United States, and has two campuses in Los Angeles and the Netherlands in Europe. In 1980, Emerson College became the first school in the United States to provide writing and publishing research courses. In 1991, Emerson College was the first school to offer drama courses for children, and became one of the first schools to award degrees in drama, art, speech and debate, mass communication and journalism. At the same time, it is also the first school in New England to set up FM education station and close circuit television studio.


Emerson College is the only comprehensive college in the United States dedicated to the art of information exchange and humanities. The school can provide arts and information media degree programs recognized by the New England Association of Colleges and Universities. Over the years, the school has developed into an internationally recognized diversified college. The school has schools of communication, marketing, communication science, journalism, performing arts, visual arts and media, and written literature and publishing, which can award bachelor's and master's degrees. The school has a School of Communication, a School of Marketing, a School of Communication Science, a School of Journalism, a School of Performing Arts, a School of Visual Arts and Media, a School of Written Literature and Publishing, etc. In the annual inter school evaluation of US News, Emerson College (Boston) is often selected as one of the five best communication colleges in New England, and its graduates are also known throughout the country as professional communicators. The media art production major of Emerson's Department of Vision and Media Arts challenges students to see through their vision until completion, and almost covers all aspects of the creative process. From television and film writing to live recording and computer animation, its hands-on courses enable students to flexibly develop their own courses, enable them to focus on their most valuable skills, and improve their skills as film producers, producers, writers and producers.

Strategic Marketing Communications (MA)

Film and Television Writing (MFA)
