Alto University Aalto University is a combination of three top universities in their respective fields - Helsinki University of Technology, Helsinki School of Economics and Helsinki University of Art and Design. The University of Alto in Finland started operation on January 1, 2010. The first founding president of Alto University in Finland is a world famous molecular geneticist, former vice president of the Royal Swedish Institute of Technology, Tula Terry. Among them, the School of Art, Design and Architecture of Alto University, formerly known as the University of Art and Design of Helsinki, was founded in 1871. It is the largest art and design university in the five Nordic countries and an international college dedicated to design, audio-visual communication and art education. Lume Media Center (National Audiovisual Teaching Research and Development Center) is also located in the College of Arts and Design. As of 2007, there were 161 teachers, 308 administrative staff and other employees, and 1968 undergraduate, master and doctoral students, including 16% international students and 1:12 teachers and students. The current president is Helena Professor Xu Wening. The predecessor of Helsinki University of Art and Design was the Institute of Applied Arts (Veistokoulu) founded on January 11, 1871. In 1885, it was renamed as the Central Academy of Art and Design (Taideteollisuuden keskuskoulu, also known as Taideteollisuusekeskuskoulu). In 1949, it was renamed as Taideteollinen oppilaitos. Alto University Fees:
For non EU (European Economic Area) students who study undergraduate and master courses in English after August 2017, they need to pay annual tuition fees. Courses in Finnish or Swiss are free for all students. The annual tuition varies from 12000 euros to 15000 euros, depending on the course. The annual tuition fee for the Bachelor of International Business is 12000 euros; The annual tuition fee for postgraduate degree courses is 15000 euros.
Aalto University Scholarship:
Alto University has established a scholarship system, and a small number of outstanding students who are admitted will receive 50% or all of the tuition reduction.
