In February 2019, the New Zealand Animation Professional Winter Camp ended! Natural light X Huhu Studios, New Zealand [Hollywood Masters] animation winter camp has officially completed! The winter camp lasted a total of 15 days. The students of Natural Light followed the team of [Hollywood Masters] instructors to learn the most systematic knowledge transfer combined with practice, and completed an ultra hard core background improvement. In addition to experiencing immersive international teaching classes, improving the gold content of the collection of works, they also visited top film and television/animation companies from a distance to explore the story behind the film on the spot, At last, each student received 3 letters of recommendation from their tutors. 　　 Zero distance visit to top film and television/animation companies, combined with field experience of knowledge

　　 Activity 1:

Visit Huhu Studios, the largest animation studio in New Zealand, and get close to world-class top animators to understand their daily work.

Many staff in Huhu Studios have worked here for more than 10 years, and they are very professional and experienced. Students visited and communicated with each other from Layout artist, modeler, synthesizer, hair processor, and renderer. Among them, Mark, the synthesizer, was also involved in King Kong directed by Peter Jackson, and was also a former synthesizer of Vita Studio. Dan, the production director, was the special effects supervisor of the Oscar winning film Lord of the Rings. In just a few hours, the students actively exchanged and learned, not only gained knowledge but also made good friends in the industry.

　　 Activity 2:

Visit Digipost, a famous and old post production company in New Zealand, and the first post production and visual effects company in New Zealand. The film and television works involved in the production include: famous American TV series Spartacus: God of the Arena, Spartacus: Revenge, Spartacus: Battle of the Curse.

This activity was personally received by Mr. Gary Little, the COO of Digipost, who introduced the sound effect processing and special effect processing of Digipost to the students in great detail. Under the arrangement of Mr. Trevor Yaxley, CEO of Huhu Studios, we also watched the "Legend of the Magic Elephant" with the sound effect completed by Digipost Confidential fragments that are still under protection (everyone has signed a confidentiality agreement). It's a very, very touching film. It's no exaggeration to say that everyone has shed tears and is looking forward to the release of the whole film.

In the process of visiting Digipost, the students also communicated closely with the sound engineers of the Spartacus series on the spot; A special effects master of the Lord of the Rings was captured alive on the scene; The precious color correction machine that is more expensive than Ferrari was observed from zero distance.

　　 Activity 3:

Shooting place of Oscar winning film The Lord of the Rings: Hobbit Village, live learning, live show. The weekend trip was also full. The students drove to Hobbit Village with their tutors, and the scene experience reproduced the scenes of Peter Jackson's Oscar winning film The Lord of the Rings. He also acted as a little hobbit on the spot, and combined with Miss Yang's improvisation drama/performance skills, he played fast on the spot and restored the film.

　 Activity 4:

Have dinner with artists from Huhu Studios, and learn and communicate. This winter camp also specially arranged a dinner party for students and artists from Huhu Studios. On site, we had a close communication with artists such as Layout/lens splitter, compositor, surface treatment artist, special effects artist, editor, process management director, production director, CFO, CEO, etc.

Artists have shared their learning experiences and career development stories, and exchanged contact information with students, hoping to see students on the stage of the international animation/film and television industry in the near future, and have the opportunity to fight side by side with artists.

　　 Activity 5:

At the warm invitation of the CEO and his wife of Huhu Studios, everyone went to their family dinner together with Craig Henderson, a famous documentary film producer/director from New Zealand. The well-known domestic animation media wuhu animator space conducted a live interview with Mr. Craig. More than one thousand people watched online at the same time, and asked all kinds of questions about documentaries with the students present to learn dry goods knowledge from zero distance.

　　 Activity 6:

We will go out with our tutors to watch the latest movies and discuss and learn how to watch movies from a professional perspective. The film arranged for this winter camp: Alita: Battle Angel, the latest CGI special effect film directed by Cameron, was actively discussed with the instructor after watching the film, and we got a lot.

　　 Enrich after-school activities, get close to nature and stimulate creative inspiration

Since the days in New Zealand are very long in summer, and it gets dark at 9 o'clock every night, different after-school activities are arranged for everyone every day.

This winter camp is located in Snells Beach, a city north of Auckland, New Zealand. There are very rich and unique natural landscapes nearby. This time, we enjoyed at least 5-6 different beaches: stone beach, white sand beach, black sand beach, surfing beach, etc.

There are not only sea views, but also mountain views and forests. On weekends, everyone is also arranged to go to the sea to reach the historical and natural scenic spot Kawai Island. Zero distance contact with super docile animals: cow colored donkeys, black sheep, cattle, peacock mothers and babies, and various marine creatures in Auckland Aquarium.

Trevor and his wife Jan, who are very hospitable every day, will also take you to taste the special food of milk cow country: ice cream of various flavors. Although after the winter camp, everyone was more or less fat and tanned, but the heart was sweet and warm.

The happy time passed quickly, and the students finally ushered in a grand and warm graduation ceremony. Every student in this winter camp performed well and actively participated in the study. Finally, all of them received the recommendation letters from three tutors and the official study certificates issued by Huhu Studios.

Mr. Trevor, CEO of Huhu Studios, gave us an inspiring graduation speech, hoping that students will never give up and face difficulties bravely on the way to pursue their dreams in the future.
