Is animation design major of OCAD University good? Learn the skills to turn your imagination into reality in the new experimental animation course of OCAD University. The Ontario Academy of Art and Design has a long history and has trained successful animators in the art and film fields, including George Dunning, who directed the Beatles Yellow Submarine, and Richard Williams, the animation director of Who Framed Roger Rabbit. Recently, alumni include Trudy Elmore, a computer animator, and Jawa El Khash, a new VR artist. Shary Boyle, who represented Canada in the Venice Biennale, achieved great success with her charming performance of hand animated images.

In this project, you will develop your own artistic vision and break through the boundaries of animation as a contemporary art form. You will use 2D, 3D, stop motion animation, digital synthesis, and augmented/virtual reality to mix traditional and digital media.

stay Ontario College of Art and Design During the experimental animation course, you will have great flexibility to take art and design courses other than animation. The project has increasingly close relations with other schools around the world, and has close ties with Toronto's developing animation industry. OCAD U alumni have worked in Industrial Light&Magic, Yowza, Guru, Jam Filled, Stoopid Buddy, The Stop Motion Department, StereoD, and Motor Factory. The full-time teachers of this project are active practitioners in the field of contemporary art and animation, and show their works internationally.

At the end of the four-year course at OCAD University, you will receive a Bachelor of Arts degree. The course focuses on experimental animation and contemporary art, but many students will find jobs in creative industries such as animation and games.
