How to apply for a Master of Fine Arts from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts? Applicants for the Master of Arts program must have a Bachelor of Arts degree from the Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts or an equivalent degree from other art education institutions.

   Application deadline:


The deadline for application for admission in 2021 is 12:00 p.m. on February 25, 2021 (the school starts in September 2021).


The application will start on January 25, 2021.


The deadline for applying for exemption is February 11, 2021 (the processing time is about 7 days).


   Admission requirements


Qualification examination: applicants for Master of Arts courses must have Royal Danish Academy of Fine Arts School of Visual Arts Bachelor of Arts degree or equivalent degree from other art education institutions.


You cannot transfer from other institutions to the School of Visual Arts. You must go through the regular application process in order to be accepted for MFA projects.


Language ability: You must have good English listening and speaking ability to adapt to teaching and other activities in English. The admission process of MFA is conducted in English. Former master's degree: If you have completed another master's degree or equivalent, or if you have taken two higher education degree courses without graduation, Dundee University can only admit you if there is a vacancy.    How to apply:


The School of Visual Arts only accepts digital applications. Like all other art education programs hosted by the Danish Ministry of Culture, the Institute of Visual Arts uses gateway. Please submit the application fee on the application page. Upload required Royal Danish Academy of Arts Provide format resume, recommendation letter, motivation letter, art collection or 2 videos.


   Application fee


You must pay an application fee of DKK 750. This fee will not be refunded regardless of the result of your application.


The School of Visual Arts consists of four master's colleges. If you are accepted, you should choose the school you want to enter in priority order. Your arrangement in these four schools depends on the number of places in the school. Therefore, you may risk being placed in a school that you do not give priority to. The four master of arts schools are:


   Sculpture Charlottenborg teaches Simon Dybbroe M ø Oh


   Painting Academy led by Professor Ferdinand Am Craig


   Media Arts Institute led by Professor Jane King Kaysen and Agnieska Polska


   Professor Kara Zakanini's Concepts and Contextual Practice School


All applicants are evaluated on the basis of artistic evaluation of their artistic works. The Committee's assessment focuses on the originality of the work submitted for consideration and the potential of the applicant for artistic and professional development.


   Tuition (not applicable to EU/EEA citizens)


According to 1 of Executive Order 364. According to the regulations of the Danish Ministry of Culture, the School of Visual Arts must charge tuition fees from international students who are not citizens of the European Union or the European Economic Area.


The tuition fee is DKK 120000 per academic year, which is equivalent to DKK 60000 in the autumn semester (September 15 to January 31) and DKK 60000 in the spring semester (February 1 to June 30).


Tuition fees must be paid before the beginning of the semester. Students who pay the tuition for one academic year can divide the tuition into two parts according to the situation of two semesters. The payment method is through bank transfer to the bank account of the School of Visual Arts.
