Accessories Design
The AAS course mainly aims to cultivate students' painting and molding skills, as well as accessory design and production technology. Students can also learn the trade of accessory design.
Students can take BFA courses to learn accessory design and manufacturing, and get advanced training and in-depth research in this special field. Bachelor courses include internships and advanced programs, which have improved exploration, design, production and oral skills. Students also have the opportunity to study at London Fashion College.
Advertising Design
The advertising design course can provide skills to develop and improve students' personal opinions and oral expression ability. At the same time, the relevant courses of the advertising design course can enable students to broaden their horizons and help students understand the cultural, psychological and historical trends that affect advertising. Students gain solid foundation skills to create, plan, and execute advertising campaigns. The courses of design principles, advertising design and layout are supplemented by concept development and copywriting courses. This course provides a number of opportunities to develop your speaking skills and the ability to create professional portfolios. In the autumn of senior year, students will study an advertising theme, develop an argument, and establish standards for advertising activities in the next semester. Students will choose a brand to develop the concept of activities and design for traditional media, interactive media and innovative media.
Advertising and Marketing Media
This course provides an extensive introduction to advertising, direct marketing, news, public relations and media buying. Students need to learn to write print advertisements and news reports. Students can direct and produce TV and radio advertisements in professional digital video studios. Students can learn to make media plans. Students will improve their abilities in advertising and public relations to solve practical problems. The internship required by advertising and marketing media can provide industry experience. Students can also plan and implement an advertising and marketing communication activity and present it to leaders.
Visual communication design
The courses of Visual Communication Design of New York Fashion College mainly focus on painting, concept development, composition and information system, computer skills, web design, search ability, printing, photography, and speech ability.
Computer Animation and Interactive Media
The two-year BFA course provides a unique opportunity to hone creativity and technical skills while learning the business of computer animation and interaction design. During the two years of study, students will focus on brainstorming and story telling, 3D modeling, 3D computer animation, lights and cameras, rigging, motion graphics, interface design, music and sound design and production, post production, programming concepts, animation history, etc.
clothing design
The clothing design course of New York Fashion Academy provides technical training on fashion art and clothing design. FIT also provides a two-year international AAS program, one year in New York, and the rest of the school year in Florence. The fifth semester is a mixed course to help students focus and improve usability. They are: children's clothing, underwear, knitted clothing, special occasions clothing, sportswear. FIT also offers one year of study in New York and the rest of the semester in Milan.
pure art
The two-year AAS course provides solid basic art, focusing on basic knowledge: 2D and 3D design basics, life drawing and general drawing, concrete and abstract painting, sculpture, and printmaking. In the last semester of AAS, students have the opportunity to study in Florence, Italy. Many students go to BFA for further study to further develop their conceptual thinking and personal style. Courses include sculpture or painting and internship projects in museums, art recovery companies or other art related companies in the last semester.
Graphic Artist Designer
The basic elements of the graphic design course of New York Fashion College provide students with a solid foundation and develop their professional knowledge in creating graphic design using industry level technology. In practical and independent projects, students will be challenged to take innovative approaches to visual design. Skills that will be developed in this course: advanced typesetting, editing design, environmental graphics, such as signs, corporate image programs, and media design. The focus of these two years' projects is on skills that can be immediately applied in the workplace. The required internship provides a professional experience. The graduate student exhibition of graphic design provides a valuable opportunity for students to show your best works to industry leaders.
Illustration
The illustration course of New York Fashion Academy includes imitating real scenes and helping to improve your skills in presenting existing projects to customers or managers. According to your interest, you can choose a major from fashion or general illustration. Fashion illustration focuses on drawing, rendering, and writing manuscripts to introduce completed illustrations, emphasizing recent fashion, accessories, beauty products and perfumes. General illustration emphasizes drawing, idea of conception, forming effective images and mastering technical visual communication skills. Most students take BFA courses. This more advanced course focuses on business application skills, enabling students to expand their work and opportunities for additional training in animation, documentary art, book illustration, and computer-generated illustration. Students can choose to study in Florence, Italy in summer to learn the global language of illustration.
Interior design
The two-year AAS course teaches basic elements of design, including space planning, lighting design and color application, materials and furniture. In the last semester, students will search for a building and plan to convert it to different uses. Previous projects included the conversion of multi-storey row into a non-profit facility, complete galleries, gift shops, offices, meeting places and private residences. In the next two years of BFA courses, you will master more advanced design technologies and apply them to complex building types, including city halls, rural and holiday homes, retail stores, and government and religious facilities. Students will complete a two semester advanced thesis project.
Jewelry Design
Key basic skills in the first year - jewelry design, sculpture, casting, drafting and fashion jewelry. In the second year, students will choose design or studio and take more specialized courses to develop their professional knowledge. In the design options, students will focus on the aesthetic elements of fashion and jewelry. Students should learn to convert 2D rendering to 3D design. Learning includes cost estimation, design analysis, manufacturing methods, and line construction, as well as fashion forecasting, market analysis, and world development trends. In the studio option, students will learn about the development of the jewelry line from beginning to completion, including all stages of production.
packing design
In order to remain competitive in the global market, the course content includes: brand, design strategy, consumer characteristics and purchase mode, sustainable development, technology and materials, 3D design, procurement and retail solutions, and e-commerce. The internship provided provides you with the opportunity to experience real work in a large design company or manufacturer, and provides the possibility of full-time work after graduation.
technical design
The technical design course covers the grading of technical elements and marking specifications. Students will understand the important relationship between technical design, production and manufacturing cycle. The focus is on developing skills in digital imaging and the use of industry-specific grading and marking software. In the course of practical operation, students will learn: correction of application mode, development of computer plane mode, creation of science and technology package, and determination of whether the finished clothing meets the specifications; Understand the role of procurement, logistics and regulations; Various techniques are used for schema corrections and details. Textile/surface design
The course combines traditional and digital practical applications, and uses the latest theories of computer aided design (CAD) technology. Students will also learn about textile surface design and project management business costs and procurement. Students will learn the principles of innovation, the fundamentals of color, and studio practices. Students will choose a major in decorative fabric, screen printing or knitting design.
Toy design
The course focuses on baby toy design, including design and production of soft and hard toys, game and doll design, product safety, child psychology, motor learning and development, packaging, computer-aided industrial design, marketing, promotion, and toy trading.
Fabric pattern
FIT is the only school in the United States that offers a major in fabric style. Fabric designers are an important link connecting design, presentation and finished products. Fabric designers should not only define trends, but also shape popular visual concepts. Fabric designers can work in many fields, such as fashion trend prediction companies, fashion network companies, fashion product development, photo editing of fashion magazines, and fashion modeling departments of film and television companies.
