3D design
The course of "design and manufacturing" is arranged in the design and production center, which combines the key investigation methods with the actual operation. Focus on "small batch production" and "one-time" design. We encourage students, as "design makers", to break the rules and study, experiment, design and produce in an increasingly complex commodity culture by improving their personal level.
This course has a good cooperation relationship with institutions with good reputation in the international design community, such as Tate Modern Art Museum in the UK, The Sorrel Foundation, and Erasmus Exchange Program in Norway and Germany.
The college arranged a series of trips to British cultural institutions, Milan, Stockholm Furniture Fair and international visits.
painting
Painting is a developing mode of contemporary art practice. This course regards painting as an extension of thought, and encourages you to constantly test the boundaries of painting practice by understanding contemporary concepts, practices, technologies, and the traditions and history of the discipline. You need to take the exploration of painting as an end and a means to explore other artistic practice modes, such as sculpture, transposition, performance and film.
Spontaneous or organized external projects will help you better learn important professional skills and make you better understand your own works. Visiting experts from various fields will strengthen student led painting research, including art, surgery, material science, architecture, sound art, animation, criticism and curation.
The preparatory course provides a wide range of professional directions, and there are corresponding undergraduate degree courses in the college or the whole university. The expertise provided by each direction will help you develop your portfolio to apply for undergraduate degree programs in related subjects 。
The course is closely linked with the most famous museums and galleries in Britain, including Tate Britain Museum, Hunterian, National Gallery, The Courtauld Gallery, Laban Centre for Cooperative Dance, The Wellcome Trust and the Architectural Association. Historians and practitioners will regularly give lectures to enrich our courses.
