ACCD Entertainment Design Department provides three tracks:

Concept focuses on the skills and creativity required by concept designers in the entertainment industry

Animation cultivates students in character animation, storyboards, modeling, art guidance, and 3D and 2D animation lighting disciplines.

ACCD game design enables students to create and convey game concepts through prototype design and production of multiple platforms.

　　 How to apply for animation preparation of Art Center Design College

Animation students may follow a specific path once admitted, they may follow many specific paths, but the core of each path is the ability to communicate through drawing. Whether you are interested in character animation, storyboards, modeling, art direction, or animation lighting, the Art Center Design Institute will look for some of the combination skills outlined here. If you are familiar with these different career paths in the animation industry, you must mention your most interested field when applying to the Art Center Design Institute. As part of the application article, you are required to outline your learning objectives.

　　 Story idea . Give a concise (1-2 sentence) outline of the original story, which will be the basis of your professional animation portfolio. Provide a series of storyboard sketches to outline the description of the story.

　　 Character design . Design at least 3 characters to the center of your story. Each character should be presented on a fully presented picture to convey the actions, expressions, attitudes and characteristics that express the character's personality in the context of the story. Includes reference images, inspiration, character development/exploration. You can also include other character design projects that you have completed previously.

　　 Finish Keys Create at least 5 fully rendered illustrations to convey the key narrative moments from your story, and depict your character in dramatic moments in the arc of the whole story. These pictures should show your use of composition and color, and also convey your sense of aesthetic considerations around the characters, including the depiction of the general environment and props/objects.

　　 Drawing sheet Drawings including at least 12 live models. This should include hand sketches and more finished drawings to show the use of light, shadow and perspective based on longer poses. Includes face, hands, and feet.

　　 Sketch Include several pages from your sketch book, key observation drawings and other animal and human positions.

　　 Animated short film . If you have created an animation clip that stops moving in 2D or 3D, please include it in your collection as a Quicktime file. This job does not need to be linked to your storyline.

In addition, submit your required composite videos/articles.

　　 How to apply for and prepare for the game design of Art Center Design College

Please submit the following project as a demonstration of your potential as a game designer.

　　1、 Suggestion of game concept based on your original idea. This must include, but not be limited to:

One minute video of you showing/promoting the game

A short paragraph detailing the main functions of the game, including the target platform (console or mobile device) and audience.

Players who describe different categories/layers of navigation and movement are available (main mechanics), which are displayed through drawings and sketches of these elements.

A brief description of the "game process", a detailed description of the overall structure of the game and the way to establish and develop between various levels (can be presented through sketches and written descriptions).

A summary of artistic guidance describing the visual aesthetics and design of the game story world, including visual research/reference and rendering of sketches and/or sample characters and environments. The description of "five minute game" allows us to use written descriptions, sketches and renderings in your game through a story or puzzle sequence.

If you have a game prototype running on PC or Mac, please add it at will (no specific software or hardware is required; detailed instructions on installation and interaction must be included, including platform requirements).

2. Written analysis of recently published video games (game consoles or mobile phones). This document should not exceed three pages, and must include a short written description of the game, a list of the main functions of the game, your views on what works and what doesn't work, and the different approaches you will take if you design the game.

3. A short article about your favorite game (not a video game). This document should not exceed one page, and must include a brief description of the game, a short paragraph detailing your preferences for the game and your views on the fun of the game.

4. Examples of other game ideas you developed, including short written descriptions and sketches.

5. Other examples of creative work, such as drawing, graphic design or other personal work, give us the feeling of being an artist or designer.
