With designers operating under the background of increasing globalization, we also believe that international experience is an important aspect of design education. GSA's product design students can choose to take the European Master of Design (Medes) course, which is unique in the UK. This five-year master's program was conceived and developed by GSA in cooperation with six other leading European design universities. It allows our students to have one-year exchanges in two different cooperation schools. In addition, our B Des (Honors) degree students can access the global network of universities and design schools for exchange and placement in schools in Europe, Japan, India, North America and Australia.

The content of GSA and its partners' scheme is mainly provided in the design studio. This approach creates a socially interactive but individually driven work practice, working with teams and sharing experience at the core of our philosophy. A small group of 30-35 students each year, combined with close and frequent contact with the tutor, creates an informal and efficient student led learning environment.

The basic method of PDE is "core exploration". The first three years of the GSA studio program are centered on core design project activities.
