What does it mean to interact with digital technology? What are the skills artists and designers need to develop and create the possibility of opening up digital technology? The degree in interactive design aims to train graduates who are users of technological innovation.

In the 21st century, exciting changes are taking place in the fields of art, design and architecture; The new way of thinking based on the progress of digital technology has promoted the reform. Glasgow School of Art The interactive design scheme (formerly BDes (Hons) digital culture) contains the creative possibilities opened up by these technologies to reveal other ways of design and artistic expression. Digital art and design transcend different boundaries and are based on the good practice of various creative disciplines, including photography, moving images, 3D, sound, graphics, network, interaction, etc.

Glasgow College of Arts Interactive Design Undergraduate Diversified Learning

In interaction design, we teach the basic principles of code in an easy to understand way while visual thinking and creative problem solving. When these abilities are combined, students can obtain a set of fully functional and essential digital tools. Skills and confidence are developed through auxiliary exercises, which form the cornerstone of knowledge and technology. Students can quickly apply them to creative questions raised in project presentations. Current projects include digitization, data visualization, 3D table generation, contemporary narrative structure, interaction design, process mapping and motion graphics. These projects change year by year to reflect the rapid pace of digital culture innovation.

The ability to combine code and program thinking with aesthetic considerations and critical awareness enables students to create interactive virtual and physical handicrafts, and enables graduates to enter an exciting and innovative world of digital art and design.

This subject is fast paced and easy to change, so digital artists and designers must keep up with the current pace of development. They need passion for technology and innovation, imagination of forward-looking thinking and ability to develop great ideas. Through close contact with the industry and digital art practitioners, the content of the program is constantly updated and relevant to the theme. During the four years of study, students participate in critical discussions and inquiry learning, explore historical and contemporary theories related to digital culture, and consider their impact on the interconnected global society. There are more and more opportunities for sustainable creative careers related to the creative digital industry.

History and Theory of Interaction Design

An integral part of the scheme is provided by the Department of Design History and Theory. For most of the four-year undergraduate design courses, a student schedule of one day a week is allocated to design history and design theory. It is an externally linked key group with diversified research expertise, critical research on a broad basis, and contemporary creative practice in design.

There are various teaching styles, from traditional keynote speeches to interactive discussion groups and experiential learning. The construction of the course is to support the practice of the studio and expand the scope of students' research.

All students must attend lectures and discussion groups, make oral presentations, write papers, and publish personal research reports (accounting for 20% of the final degree score) or papers (accounting for 30% of the final degree score) in the last year in the form of papers.

Provide students who need learning support with additional teaching suitable for their personal needs. Each student has a department contact tutor who has the ability of consultation and pastoral in the progress of design, history and theory.

The relationship between human beings and technology has shaped the world we experience, whether these technologies are agriculture, industry or today's digital technologies.

The interaction of society, culture and technology in life determines that the research of interaction design is a research field. Interaction is no longer just a technological phenomenon, but a phenomenon of mutual relations, which links all aspects of social life together.

Glasgow Academy of Arts Interaction Design Graduate Program

People experience their environment and interact with others through new technologies. Interaction design not only considers the opportunities provided by the design product or system, but also considers the space and relationship with the affected people.

Interaction Design Postgraduate Course Theme of Glasgow Academy of Arts

This one-year course examines the relationship between technology driven innovation and society's pursuit of individual equality, quality of life and community well-being. You will use key interactive components to explore, prototype, evaluate, and iterate concepts, challenging people's experience in participating in society and technology itself in the process. Students will develop an understanding of interaction design in complex environments and learn to analyze behavior to guide the design process. This course is ideal for students interested in UX design and prototype.

   Through on-site project learning

Review the emphasis on collaborative work and real world participation through projects that explore the impact of the Internet of Things, "big data" and emerging technologies. We cover a variety of topics, such as high-level life, improving the experience of homeless people and encouraging political discussion. Many projects "live" together with Toshiba, the Scottish government, Tesco Bank, Alzheimer Scotland and other organizations to provide graduates with

   International perspective

International contacts are a valuable part. The Winter School in the Scottish Highlands is organized in cooperation with students and teachers from the Royal Academy of Art and Design (Copenhagen) and the Academy of Science (KLn), and students from Japan and the United States can also participate. The knowledge, methods and methods of sharing design issues are more shaped by culture and background than formal considerations, enabling students to explore complex issues and experiences of different users and contemporary design stakeholders - whether these issues are handicrafts, services or interactions.
