Enrollment target and admission requirements
Four year Bachelor of Music (undergraduate BMus)
Performance (string music, brass woodwind, percussion, keyboard, harp, etc.)/composition/vocal music majors must be at least 18 years old before December 31 of the year of enrollment and must obtain a high school diploma or above before enrollment
IELTS score requirements: 5.5 points, and each score cannot be lower than 5.5 points.
Undergraduate application conditions: At least 18 years old before December 31 of the year of enrollment, with a high school diploma or above, and an IELTS score of 5.5.
One year Postgraduate Diploma (PGDip)/One or Two year Master Degree (MMus)
Solo (string music, brass woodwind, percussion, keyboard, harp, etc.)/composition/vocal music/orchestral music majors must obtain a bachelor's degree or above before entering school.
IELTS score requirements: 5.5 for a master's degree in performance, 6.0 for a one-year or two-year master's degree in music, and no score lower than 5.5 for each item.
All master candidates must submit a 1000 word English essay for academic assessment.
PS: The doctor's score is 7.0, and each score cannot be lower than 7.0.
Postgraduate application conditions: Bachelor degree or above, IELTS score 6.5-7.0. All master candidates must also submit a 1000 word English essay for academic assessment.
Examination requirements
*Except for the major of composition, all applicants must attend the on-site interview and examination.
The examination includes on-site professional assessment and subsequent simple interview. The requirements for professional assessment are as follows:
Piano major
Undergraduate candidates must play three tunes of different ages and styles (about 15 minutes), at least one of which must be played by memory.
Postgraduate candidates must prepare about 40 minutes of songs with different styles. The examiner will choose a track of about 15 minutes for you to play. Except for works after 1945, all music must be played by memory.
Major other than piano
Candidates must play two pieces of works of different styles (about 15 minutes), such as works of different periods (classical, romantic or modern), followed by a simple interview. The interview may include sight reading or singing.
Accompaniment included.
Other requirements
Candidates should provide proof of their English proficiency during the interview, and provide the final IELTS scores or other officially recognized English test scores before May 1. See the following for specific English entry requirements.
The purpose of the English proficiency certification during the interview is to understand the general English proficiency of the candidates, which has no impact on the professional examination. The final English score shall be subject to the score submitted before May 1.
Note: The school only recognizes IELTS, and all other language achievements are not recognized by the school
