The collection of works of Cleveland Academy of Arts, your collection of works is the cornerstone of the application for Cleveland Academy of Arts, and also an important part of the decision to admit. The following guidelines will help you create a portfolio that best reflects your work.
Portfolio Evaluation
Cleveland Academy of Arts Our Admissions Committee will evaluate your portfolio to assess your technical ability, conceptual problem-solving ability, and the use of the media you choose.

List of works of transferred students
These preferred elements are only applicable to transfer students who wish to be placed in a sophomore year or above and seek studio art credits to replace basic courses at the freshmen level.
As a transfer applicant, your 12 to 20 works should include the following:
● Four observation charts are required
● 2-3 examples of 3D works
● 2-3 examples of 2D work
● 3-4 examples of digital works using Freehand, Illustrator, InDesign or Photoshop
● 4-6 Work examples related to the specialty you want to enter
● Submit portfolio through online application (recommendation) or online.

Video shooting skills:
It is best to use a single lens reflex (SLR) camera, but if necessary, smart phones should be able to solve the problem. The recommended minimum size and resolution is 5x7 inches at 300dpi.
Make sure the white balance setting on the digital camera is suitable for outdoor use. For indoor shooting, block other light sources and use two tungsten bulbs. Place a light on each side of the artwork at a 45 degree angle. Ensure that the light balance is suitable for indoor or tungsten filament lamps.
Take each picture separately. Try filling the camera frame with your work. If a background is used, it should be a neutral color, preferably black.
If you are not sure about the exposure time, please take three slides for each slide: one at the recommended camera meter reading, one at a higher exposure (f-stop), and the other at a lower exposure.
Most importantly, take your time. If necessary, please shoot your work again. Select the best shots, place them in the order you want the Cleveland Academy of Art to view, and preview your work through projection.
