How to draw the professional works of architecture? Today, I graduated from Hobart and William Smith College with a bachelor's degree in architecture, and graduated from Rhode Island School of Design with a master's degree in interior design. The trainer of the Natural Light Works Collection introduces to you what we should think about when drawing the works collection of architecture? Create a collection of professional architectural works How to draw can more richly express your creative ideas, let's have a look.
How to draw the professional works of architecture?
Imagination is the most valuable thing in the creation of architectural works, whether in painting or design and other art fields. I admire imagination, and those lucky people who have it. Not long ago, Liu Cixin, the winner of the Hin Clark Award, said in his acceptance speech that he thought about imagination, and here I share with you: imagination is a kind of ability possessed by human beings that seems to belong only to God, and its meaning of existence is far beyond our imagination. Some historians have said that the reason why human beings can surpass other species on the earth to establish civilization is mainly because they can create things in their own brains that do not exist in reality.
In the future, when AI has more intelligence than human beings, imagination may be the only advantage we have for them. The future is like the heavy rain in midsummer, which will come to us before we can open our umbrellas. And how can you, as a beginner, inspire your creativity so that it is no longer an idea, but a work on paper? Today I want to take out a website that I have collected for a long time to share with you.

The subtitle is A Vision Platform of Architecture. It's very straightforward. It can be summarized as the architect's graphic skills. I will introduce this website to my students during the presentation of basic courses of architecture. Because many of the examples above have simply opened the minds of students, jumping out of the fixed view of traditional rendering expression. For students who already have ideas, we can go to the image reference from the detailed classification. For students with weak foundation, there are not only many cases to refer to, but also software tutorial links for everyone, one by one.

In this picture, we can see that the traditional local architectural forms have been treated and distorted, embedded with paradoxes and characteristics. This special editor re imagined a classic form of house, which was re imagined as a classic image of his own heart.

Poole's Agor à collage
Collage is an exercise that I will let students with weak spatial foundation do early. When they have no practical ability to model or make models, they can find the elements in the space and throw them together to see a quick expression of the general spatial effect.
In the architectural project above, the author quotes Heidegger to think about the essence of housing and realizes that it is beyond the use of human beings for buildings. When he said "this is the attitude of mortals on the earth", he had a deeper understanding of living. So people don't just live in squares or gardens, they live beside them.

The brief introduction of this project of KooZA/rch is to provide a mixed urban architecture, including public and private activities. It uses the knowledge collected in the last year to provide a reasonable design to respond to its background, and will bring people a public space that is nearly lost in the contemporary era, namely the market. A place that respects food sources and promotes health and local products. A place where joy can flourish.
First of all, a complete project does not necessarily have a final result. Some explorations, some discoveries, and some experiments can also independently support a complete project, provided that the logical relationship among them can be clearly understood and expressed clearly what kind of professional thinking these explorations/discoveries/experiments can bring to students.
Secondly, master level expression can be skillfully used, and you can also express your ideas clearly without showing off your skills. The master has not yet become the master's generation, without the assistance of various computer software, he still conveyed the concept. When drawing the architectural works, this brain hole actually only allows architectural students to find some original ways again.
About classification:

At the bottom of the page, there will be some classifications. Students in the architectural landscape room should be familiar with these words. We can find the expression we want to use through these keywords.
Take the collage we just talked about. Click Collage, and you will see the following examples:

Among these items, there is the expression of collage, so they were assigned to this category. The cover map is a collage expression, which clearly enables the searcher to quickly find similar cases to learn and compare. These projects, some of which are school projects, some of which are competition projects, and some of which are architects or students' ideas about space in architecture, are generally not examples of successful construction.
Then these classifications can help students find the expression methods that they need to use when creating the collection of architectural works, and gradually form their own style in this process.
About Tutorials:
On the top of the website, click Tutorial, and you will see some tutorial links about the drawing software, including the tutorials of Adobe system's illustrator, photoshop and indesign, as well as some rendering tutorials of v-ray. In fact, it is a collection of some foreign tutorial websites, some of which are official software websites, and some of which are spontaneous.
Through personal testing, except for some videos uploaded by YouTube, the rest are not used. Students don't need to go to Taobao to buy tutorials. Many of the tutorials are taught without new software versions. In our digital and intelligent era, I have given you the links to the tutorials. Let's learn the latest technology and show you the project cases!

This project is like this: a 300 square meter duplex house. The natural lighting of two courtyards is located in the core of the apartment, and the stairs connecting the two floors are the main elements of the house. In order to use it as the main structural core and the core of the apartment itself, the project draws inspiration from Martk Rothko's color gamut and processes it with two sets of colored tiles.

Peter Judson
For a long time after the period of radical design, Peter Judson reinterpreted the bright colors of the times with modern style. Let the audience lose themselves in his isometric projection field. In these projections, the opposite scales collide, the fragments collide, and the surface plays a role in the binary, producing new stories in the form of almost puzzles.

Whether it is to create a fictional geometric landscape or the noise of architectural elements, these images can immediately attract our attention and let us dissect the infinite elements embedded in them. It is almost impossible to dissect the intricate labyrinth of Judsons' architecture. It will be a lifelong project to track the plans and parts of these parallel universes that he has carefully made.

Prakul Pottapl
The next person in charge of this project is Prakul Pottapl, from University of Pennsylvania Master of Landscape Architecture, this project focuses on the slate belt in Lehigh Valley, Pennsylvania, whose historical memory, identity materials and landscape are closely related. The permeability and impermeability of these materials and landscapes shaped the area over time. Rock is mined due to its impermeability, soil is cultivated due to its proper permeability, and cultural landscape is constantly shaped and reshaped by the concept of infiltration in many aspects.

The proposal is a series of parks designed to celebrate specific material culture and provide shared space for these towns, which will help expand their presence in the Lihai Valley by connecting them together. There is a sense of nostalgia among people in the slate belt, who are part of the past of the vibrant slate industry. The quarry is a landscape they are very familiar with.

In order to guide this sense of nostalgia and intimacy, the drawing is inspired by the old topographic map. These ideas try to use painting methods, combined with collages of simulated photos, watercolors and the use of some oil painting photos.
