To study at the Berkeley Boston Conservatory of Music (BCOM), students must be admitted both academically and artistically. Please follow the steps below to apply. For all questions about the application process or requirements, please contact the office admissions at the Boston Conservatory of Music, Berkeley.
Please note that if you want to apply for the Berklee College of Music, this is another separate application and audition process. The Berkeley Conservatory of Music is not the same institution as the Berkeley Boston Conservatory of Music.
1) Submit application
Applications will begin on July 1. Submit an online application on your application portal before the deadline, and pay (non refundable) the application fee online. The Berkeley Boston Conservatory of Music also accepts application fee waivers issued by the American College Council (UCC), the National College Admission Advisory Committee (NACAC), or your guidance office. Please email the application fee waiver to eo berklee.edu or fax it to 617-747-2047.

Application deadline
Action in advance: Undergraduate applicants can apply by taking action in advance before the deadline of November 1.
Routine action: The deadline for submitting the application and preliminary review materials is December 1.
Music Education Applicant: Please select the summer semester (June 2020) when starting your application.
2) Provide supporting materials
The Berkeley Boston Conservatory of Music does not require letters of recommendation, papers, personal statements or SAT/ACT scores to complete applications. If you think any of these supplementary materials is your main strength and you want to include them in your application, please contact the Admissions Office at eo berklee.edu. The following academic certificate is a necessary part of your application.

First time university applicants
You must submit your most recent official high school transcript or General Education Development (GED) score.
If you receive university credit from another university, you must also submit an official transcript.
All documents must be submitted in English. If you are applying as an international student, please refer to the requirements for international applicants below.
transfer student
Applicants who have obtained university level credits for at least one full semester will be considered as transfer students and need to submit the following information:
Official transcripts of all university level courses completed, and a copy of the high school diploma used to certify graduation.
If you have completed four full college semesters at the time of application, you do not need to submit a high school transcript.
The course selection and the time required to obtain the bachelor's degree will be determined after the audition, the review of transcripts, the results of competency assessment and the results of the first semester judges' inspection.
Postgraduate course applicants
All graduate applicants must have a recognized college, conservatory of music or university bachelor degree graduate students must submit the following items:
Recent official university transcripts, international applicants who have studied outside the United States and Canada; Applicants who have completed their studies outside the United States and Canada must submit a degree evaluation (certificate evaluation) report.
You must submit your official transcript to an accredited degree evaluation agency, such as Education Credential Evaluators, for evaluation.
Please ask them to evaluate each subject one by one according to their scores. Any applicant who is currently enrolled in an International Baccalaureate (IB) preparatory school, or has graduated from such a school, and holds an international diploma, does not need to submit documents through the certification assessment unit.

TOEFL requirements
If you want to apply for a degree program and your native language is not English, you need to submit TOFEL or IELTS scores to complete the application.

If your exam results do not meet the minimum score for your intended degree, you may be invited to participate in our Music and English Intensive Program (Music and English Intensive Program). TOEFL and IELTS scores required for admission
*The IELTS scores listed are a guide based on the total score. The individual scores in the four sections (listening, reading, writing and speaking) will be used to assess and determine the eligibility for admission to a particular course of study.
When we believe that any applicant's application documents are incomplete or insufficient, the Berkeley Boston Conservatory of Music has the right to revoke the applicant's admission status.

Official recognition certificate or GED score issued by school district and/or state education department
The Boston Conservatory of Music in Berkeley accepts electronic transcripts. Ask for a recommendation letter or personal statement.

3) Complete online interview (undergraduate applicants only)
In addition to audition, all undergraduate applicants must complete an online video interview. The purpose of this interview is to help us understand your side as an artist, understand your goals and ambitions, and how we can help you further improve your artistic development. This is a simple process, and you don't need to prepare in advance.
