Tokyo University of the Arts (TOKYO University of the Arts for short) is currently divided into Tokyo Academy of the Arts and Tokyo Conservatory of Music, with 10 departments. The National University of Arts and Music of Tokyo has promulgated the Law on the Establishment of National Schools (Law No. 150 of 1948), including the Tokyo School of Arts (now the School of Arts) and the Tokyo Conservatory of Music (now the Conservatory of Music), which were established in May. In addition, Tokyo University of the Arts has also established a music high school as an educational and research institution attached to a specific department of the university and the conservatory of music.
The campus of Tokyo University of the Arts is located in Ueno Park, Taitung District, Tokyo, Shigeru Town, Ibaraki Prefecture, Yokohama City, Kanagawa Prefecture and Chihiro District, Tokyo. Most departments and other facilities are concentrated in Ueno Park.
