College Profile

Royal Academy of Arts , short for RA The Royal Academy of Fine Arts, located in central London, has been established for 237 years since 1768. It has not only a long history but also a large number of talents, making great contributions to the cultivation of world painting, sculpture and architectural art talents. The school holds an annual exhibition of outstanding students and artists' works, which also attracts the attention of art lovers at home and abroad.

Currently, there are only two Asian students from Hong Kong and Japan studying at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts. In addition to most British students, many students from European countries, such as Sweden, Russia, France, Germany and other countries, choose to study here for master's degree. President Cockerell, who is particularly interested in oriental art, especially Chinese calligraphy and ceramics, hopes that more and more Asian students dedicated to art will apply to study at the Royal Academy of Fine Arts.

Since its establishment in the 18th century, the Royal Academy of Fine Arts not only does not charge students any tuition fees, but also provides students with scholarships and job opportunities of 8000 or 9000 pounds each year to help them cope with the expensive living expenses in London.

Sir Joshua Reynolds, the first headmaster, decided at the beginning that the school would never reject students because they could not afford to pay tuition fees. This ancient tradition continues to this day.
