For an art school, the most important part of the application materials for art study abroad is the collection of art study abroad. Today, Natural Light International Art Education brings you suggestions on the official collection of works from the Minneapolis School of Art and Design (MCAD), so that you can learn how to prepare a collection of art study abroad that can easily get an offer.

 Creation of overseas works

Step 1: Creation of art overseas works

The first step in making a collection of overseas works of art is to create the works in it. You may already have many works, but you still need to create new works to meet the requirements of MCAD's collection of works.

Get ready as soon as possible! The more time you spend creating, the better you can create.

Focus on quality rather than quantity.

Sign up for art courses in various media.

Attend preparatory summer courses, create works with peers, and experience college life.

Take a portfolio preparation course. (Some courses of natural light provide work collection guidance!)

 Planning of overseas works collection

Step 2: Planning of art overseas works collection

After creating some works, it is likely that the number of your works exceeds the number required by the collection. The hardest part is deciding what to choose and what not to choose.

Read the application requirements carefully and put in all the contents required.

Only original works (not copied works) are selected.

Strive to enrich the content and media.

Document production of overseas works collection

Step 3: Production of art study portfolio

After you have selected your works, it is time to make a collection of overseas works of art.

Scan or shoot your works; If it is a 3D work, take photos from multiple angles. Ensure the quality of scanning or shooting.

Ensure sufficient light, but not necessarily flash. It is better to be outdoors with sufficient natural light, or use light to supplement the light.

Crop the final image. Images outside the edge of the artwork should be cut off.

Step 4: Evaluation of art works for studying abroad

There are some free and easy ways to get portfolio evaluations.

Request an online assessment. The admissions consultant will provide you with an assessment of three works of art. You just need to fill in the form and attach pictures. SIA now has a free activity to evaluate the collection of works. Don't miss it!

The best way to receive a complete assessment is to arrange a face-to-face work collection assessment activity on campus. The recruitment consultant of MCAD can help you evaluate your portfolio during working hours.

MCAD will participate in the national works fair activities nationwide. If you are not sure where they are, you can contact the school.

Although some methods are more suitable for American local students, American art students can also learn some useful experience from them. I hope this will be helpful to everyone Minneapolis College of Art and Design (MCAD) Art study abroad application can help.
