The applicant shall submit a combination of 20 pictures representing the recent work of one or more institutions. Through Adobe slides and the postgraduate admission website, applicants will submit their letters of intent and artists' statements. Pictures must be uploaded to Rochester Institute of Technology School of Photography Arts and Sciences.
Application requirements:
Bachelor's degree (or equivalent) from a recognized university or college.
Submit a portfolio of concentrated works of art to demonstrate visual complexity, aesthetic awareness, craftsmanship, and commitment to goals and ideas. (See Postgraduate Portfolio Requirements for more information.)
Submit official transcripts (in English) of all previously completed undergraduate and graduate courses.
Submit a personal statement on educational goals, outlining the choice of RIT for MFA degrees and their desired career goals.
Submit an artist statement explaining the intent behind the submitted portfolio.
Submit the current resume or resume.
Submit three letters of recommendation from academics or professionals.
International applicants whose native language is not English must submit TOEFL, IELTS or PTE scores. The minimum TOEFL score is 88 (Internet based). The minimum IELTS score is 6.5 (balanced). For native speakers of English or those who submit transcripts of degrees obtained at US institutions, the requirement for English test scores is waived. You can choose to attend an interview.
