According to a theme selected in the previous step, carry out more in-depth research and content refinement, and think comprehensively and thoroughly about each other from different perspectives, such as the artist, the work itself, the viewer (or the experiencer), so as to be able to be reasonable and even unique in the face of the query from the viewer. Read widely about the similarities and differences in the content and creative ideas of relevant theories and works, and try to record the text content and image materials in the form of research reports, as a reference for subsequent steps.

The first is to comprehensively consider the applicability of the theme, the degree of mastery of different media, the performance effect of different media on the theme, the difficulty of production, etc., and make a preliminary selection of the types of constituent elements of the work itself, and then make a general plan on the content of the final presentation as a collection of works.

The complexity of the production of photographic works varies greatly. According to the type of works and the process of shooting and production, it may be a very simple activity dominated by still life pictures that are not subject to the constraints of time and space, or it may be an unusually complex huge project affected by timing, manpower, technical difficulties or the number of equipment and materials.

Therefore, it is very important to make a specific plan before actually starting field shooting activities. When making a shooting plan, we can consider making a detailed idea of the work before and after shooting and the time, manpower and material resources of specific shooting activities in the form of sketches and text descriptions, that is, a set of plans. The specific design drawings, task time nodes, and manpower and material resources list will vary greatly with different forms of works.

　　 5. Demonstration and shooting of sample

Shoot or make one or more prototypes of works, try to fully express the target effect and simulate the actual display situation, and comprehensively consider the difficulty of shooting/production, theme performance effect, difficulty of exhibition of works collection, etc. to evaluate the feasibility of the scheme. For the relatively feasible scheme, enter the stage of "finding and solving problems", constantly adjusting the scheme and improving the works, and repeatedly demonstrate it. The second, third and fourth editions of the works may appear. For the scheme with obvious poor feasibility, consider subversion and reformulate the scheme.

After that, the shooting of pictures and video series or the promotion and production of each part of the device will be carried out according to the scheme, so as to achieve the expected performance effect and quality, and complete the planned number of works. At the same time, the process shall be recorded with images and words as required, such as photos, videos, notes, sketches, etc.

The final work should not only aim at improving the work itself, but more importantly, take the final presentation effect of the work collection as the standard, control the details of the work itself or the record of the work with high quality and conduct post-processing polishing.
