The University of Georgia interdisciplinary art and design course is an AB degree course, which allows students to discover various media and technologies related to studio art and design disciplines, while maintaining flexibility, and build more interdisciplinary research projects through elective courses other than art. The interdisciplinary art and design degree is designed for those students who want to study art and design and are able to establish degree courses. Compared with the BFA course that is more focused by the University of Michigan School of Arts, this degree course provides more options for learning and elective courses in a broader range of disciplines and courses.

        Interdisciplinary Art and Design Courses:

Interdisciplinary art and design courses are only offered at the undergraduate level. Students studying for this degree understand the artistic principles and applications of the nonverbal language of art and design, can organize visual elements rationally and intuitively according to the understood artistic principles, and are familiar with the major achievements in the history of art and visual culture. Students interested in pursuing an interdisciplinary Bachelor of Arts and Design must first submit their work through the portfolio review process. To learn more about the portfolio review process, undergraduates apply for their focus areas through this process.

　　 University of Georgia Interdisciplinary art and design courses require 27 hours of art and design courses, and studio art core courses (core course area 6). In addition, the AB degree in interdisciplinary art and design requires selecting one of two key areas:

Part of experiential learning, such as studying abroad or field research.

Or complete additional minor courses, certificate courses or double majors in fields other than art schools.

　　 Core courses of studio art

The core course of studio art exposes students to a variety of experiences, from strict classroom criticism and discussion to seminars, workshops, visiting artist lectures and exhibitions. Students are familiar with the main achievements and ideas in the history of art and design, and cultivate critical acumen to prepare for advanced learning in their major or minor fields or dialogue with other disciplines.

During the fall and spring semesters, interdisciplinary art and design fields participated in interdisciplinary Collection of Art and Design Works Review week.
