PhD application requirements of popular universities in the UK

Requirements for applying for doctoral degree from popular universities in the UK:

   Royal College of Art

Admission requirements:

Applicants must generally have a good relevant undergraduate degree or equivalent. The College recognizes any degree, diploma, certificate or other proof of formal qualification granted by a university or other higher education institution as an equivalent qualification, while meeting the requirements of the subject area to be applied for. Applicants should generally reach the age of 21 before September 1 of the proposed year of enrollment.

Language requirements:

Applicants should prove that they have a certain understanding of English. Candidates who do not speak English as their first language will be required to provide evidence that their IELTS scores have reached at least 6.5 and their written scores have reached 6.5 in the past two years.

closing date:

The first and second round of applications for admission in 2020/21 are now closed.

   London University of the Arts

Admission requirements:

The minimum entry requirement is an advanced degree with a second class honor (2:1) or higher from a recognized institution of higher education. However, considering the academic and intellectual requirements of a master's or doctoral degree, a master's degree in an appropriate discipline is considered to be particularly valuable preparation. In some cases, applicants without minimum academic requirements may consider taking the degree if they can prove that they have appropriate alternative qualifications, relevant professional experience or previous research.

Language requirements:

• English language test approved by the UAL: for example, IELTS 7.0, and the written test is 7.0, no subject is lower than 6.0 or the equivalent test score
