Thomas is the Emmy Award winning visual effects director and an advisory board member of the Langara Entertainment Arts Center. His visual effects career has spanned 20 years. During this period, he worked in facilities and production companies for more than 20 feature films, 12 television projects and countless advertisements.

During his tenure as Scanline VFX visual effects director, Thomas worked on Pan and won HPA Award, VES Award and Emmy Award for his work in Game of Thrones (Season 4). Thomas brought his knowledge of science and technology to image engine design, from photographic expertise of positioning plate to animation, synopsis, writing, editing, production planning, bidding, team building and management. His latest contribution to Image Engine is the seventh and eighth seasons of Game of Thrones, for which he won another Emmy Award in 2019. He is also a member of the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences.

Tyler is a visual effects producer.
