Ceramics
He is specialized in teaching contemporary and traditional techniques of sculpture and utensil manufacturing, involving ceramic manufacturing, architectural ceramics, clay and glass materials. The techniques include ceramic manual manufacturing, rotating work, modeling, glazing and rapid baking (anyone who has seen ceramic manufacturing should have an understanding of it. If you rotate a disc, squeeze it into a shape, glaze it, bake it, and then ceramic works will come out).
The school advocates exploratory teaching. Teachers will discuss problems in production with students and guide students. The school will also have visiting professors, exhibitions, lectures, etc. Professional equipment is also very powerful, with 6 large electric kilns and 4 gas fired kilns; Each student has his own independent work, which is convenient for practice.
Fiber Textile
Fiber Art Design Teach traditional and innovative skills in 2D and 3D design and production, design the knitting and surface design of fiber textiles, manual papermaking, weaving, printing and dyeing, architecture and collage, as well as textile raw material exploration, design use exploration and design methods. It is still to explore, discuss and teach, and talk about the problems involved in the production of textiles. Visiting professors and giving lectures at schools; The job is to visit and exhibition.
Glass
Professional teaching of kiln baking related processes (ceramic fusion, collapse, casting) of glass production methods (blowing glass, hot inversion casting, cold glass manufacturing). The teaching methods are still exploration and discussion, guest professor lectures, exhibition studio visits, etc. In the well ventilated glass production studio, there are separate cold and heat treatment equipment, glass cutting, grinding, polishing, drilling, sand blasting glass equipment.
Jewelry and Precious Metal Arts
The professional content involves jewelry, functional objects and sculptures, and trains students' ability to design designs with personal characteristics. The teaching methods are direct production practice+concept problem solving, hands-on practice+theoretical learning and thinking. The course teaches metal processing technology, including vacuum and centrifugal dewaxing casting, vulcanization and silica gel mold, press technology and mold forming, 3D modeling and CNC milling, so that students can do everything in metal processing.
Sculpture
Sculpture course introduces students to the knowledge of stone, wood, multimedia, glass, fiber, metal and other materials, and trains the skills required for manufacturing, casting, carpentry, welding and construction of models; In addition, there is the teaching of sculpture theory and conceptual knowledge. Students are encouraged to study across disciplines, such as studio courses in sports, application of computer control equipment and other emerging technologies. Five professional professors, with a long and powerful resume, come here to learn sculpture, which is worth your try.
Graphic Design
In graphic design at the Massachusetts Institute of Arts, students can learn to use design works to convey purpose information, including packaging design, book and magazine layout, interactive communication, letterpress printing, identity signs and brand image creation.
The teachers of the college are all the leaders in the profession. They encourage and guide students to explore the problems of graphic design in the fields of structure, surface, form, communication and interaction with customers, audience and culture, and advocate learning knowledge and skills in hands-on practice. Curriculum: professional courses, studio elective courses, technical seminars and experiment based computer courses.
Illustration
The illustration major at the Massachusetts Institute of Arts cultivates students' ability to tell stories, and teaches them the skills of role development, narrative and picture interpretation. Students will learn the knowledge of thoughts, characters, stories and settings through research, and develop their own artistic thinking. The senior students will have their work display guidance before graduation to lay the foundation for future personal illustration development.
Industrial Design
"Behind each product, there is a collaborative design process". Here, students can learn how to solve product design problems and improve product performance through design. The major teaches product sketch and effect design, product manufacturing process, prototype construction and other technologies, and students design products required by customers through research, concept maps, manufacturing analysis and material exploration.
In recent years, the specialty focuses on the design of bicycles, sports and sporting goods, children's toys, furniture systems, school buses and other products. In addition, there are a lot of internship opportunities for the major, such as company internships, design competitions, and cooperation with local manufacturing and consulting companies. These provide convenient opportunities for the development of students.
