The Juilliard School The Juilliard School, founded in 1905, is one of the top professional music schools in the world, known as the "Harvard of Music", located in Lincoln Center, New York City, USA. The school has three professional disciplines: dance, drama and music. The current Julia College was founded in 1905 by Dr The Institute of Musical Art founded by Frank Damrosch was merged with the Julia Graduate School founded by Augustus D. Juilliard's estate trust fund in 1924.


Tianjin Julia College Julia College of Music is known as the "Harvard of Music". Its first overseas college in Tianjin, Tianjin Julia College, will officially enroll graduate students on September 1, 2020. The college offers a master's degree in music awarded by Julia College in New York, and will become the first art institution in China to issue a master's degree in music certified by the United States, with three master's majors in orchestral performance, chamber music performance, and piano art guidance.

Acceptance Rate : The competition of Julia Conservatory of Music is very fierce, and the annual admission rate is about 7%, but specific to each instrument; Each field is different. Undergraduate major

Performances


This major provides four-year actor training courses for students. Every day there will be intensive classes on performance, body and voice, and other skills will be applied to the study and understanding of drama repertoire. In some courses, such as acting, undergraduate students will cooperate with graduate students.


Composition


William Schuman and Peter Mennin, the two presidents of Julia College, are very famous composers, which is why the composition major of Julia College has such a glorious history. At the same time, the popularity of this major is also inseparable from its diversified styles and teaching methods. In this regard, the teachers and alumni of Julia College have made outstanding contributions. There are many opportunities for students to compose music, including the annual concert held by the Julia Symphony Orchestra in Peter Jay Sharp Theater. The College determines the composer of the concert through the selection of students' works. Students majoring in composition will also participate in the weekly composition forum. The sponsor will sponsor three concerts every semester, and the music played in the concert will be composed by students of the composition department.


Piano major

Screenwriter


The Lila Acheson Wallace, an American playwright, encourages and helps the development of new people in the American film industry. Under the guidance of Christopher Durang and Marsha Norman, the major of screenwriting lasts for one year, free of tuition, and four to five postgraduates are recruited. The selected writers will have the opportunity to continue their postgraduate study in the second year. In two years of study, they must complete 52 credits of courses in order to finally obtain a diploma in screenwriting.


Guitar Major

Application Experience

1. Candidates applying for undergraduate music majors can apply for bachelor's degree in music and diploma. Generally speaking, both high school graduates and college transfer students should apply for a bachelor's degree in music.


The 2.4 year Bachelor of Music degree program provides the applicants with a lot of training in their major, detailed guidance in music theory and music history, and introductory teaching of some liberal arts courses. Applicants must be senior high school graduates or have equivalent qualifications before admission.


The 3.3 year undergraduate diploma program does not provide liberal arts courses. It is specially designed for those talented musicians who, for personal or professional reasons, must study a non degree system and pay close attention to the training method of performance. Applicants who wish to apply for a Bachelor Degree should contact the Admissions Office for approval. Candidates applying for a diploma must graduate from high school or hold an equivalent degree before they can be admitted. Secondary school education documents are an essential part of the admission process. Applicants must submit their official transcripts to prove their ability to complete university level courses.


4. Keep excellent academic achievements, especially English. Although there is no class ranking or minimum GPA score requirement in the admission of Julia Conservatory of Music, you are required to check your transcript to ensure that you are capable of studying at the university level. In addition, one of the letters of recommendation that Julia encourages you very much is from your English teacher.
