School environment and evaluation

The Turin Academy of Fine Arts cooperates with Copat to promote openness in order to annex all the painting schools in the hall of the Pinacoteca Academy of Fine Arts. A limited number of participants (up to 10 people per seminar) will have a unique opportunity to paint in the museum room and directly compare with the masterpieces of the exhibition led by young artists. The starting point will be the observation of some works of Albertina Gallery, its component analysis and implementation methods. This educational approach will be accomplished through the use of painting and major painting techniques. Through the preparation of preliminary sketches and the training of drawing exercises, users can get the idea of the first step leading to the completion of the work.

The final stage will lead the participants to reintroduce the painting in a free way, so as to develop sensitivity to distinguish, know how to reintroduce realistic colors, and transfer them to the support of painting. The main goal of this course is to use classical paintings as research materials to make works, not replicas, but contemporary mirrors.
