Accept conditional admission


Students can submit their English language test scores of TOEFL or IELTS when they apply for admission. After review, if other conditions and qualifications of the student meet the admission requirements, they may be admitted conditionally.

New students who have been admitted conditionally shall take the English proficiency test of the university after they report to the university. According to the test results, students will be arranged to study in language classes or degree courses. Pottery making


This ceramic art project cultivates the concept, technology and professional growth of graduate students by providing a balanced environment between practical skill development, critical and theoretical dialogue, and intensive studio research oriented to the production and thinking process, so as to produce innovative and dynamic results. We encourage students to have a strong sense of responsibility, self-reliance and self-confidence. Instructors guide students in independent research and personal practice methods. The curriculum structure requires students to critically evaluate their work within the framework of specific materials and cross disciplines, as well as in the theoretical and professional context. Students are encouraged to use methods to explore the boundaries of this field, while demonstrating their understanding of history and contemporary ecology. The project has a private graduate studio in a 10000 square foot facility, which can access a wide range of traditional and contemporary technologies. The project provides students with the necessary resources and space to make real and significant contributions to the field.


Metal


This metal project is an active research field, involving various ideas, objects, images and patterns to achieve key and dynamic results. Students and teachers form an inquiry group seeking to expand discourse in this field. The rigorous curriculum provides opportunities to explore the technology, aesthetics and concepts of contemporary jewelry and metal forging. In the most advanced facilities, teachers are actively involved artists who exhibit and speak internationally. The 10000 square foot studio provides a range of traditional and contemporary methods of working equipment, guides and accesses extended digital technology, and assigns private studio space to each student.


Painting and Sketch


This painting/sketch course encourages students' technical, conceptual and professional development through enhanced studio experience and critical and theoretical dialogue. Students work in traditional, experimental and multimedia forms, challenging to assess their work in a contemporary context. The project is located in the Smiley Art Building and covers 10000 square feet, including a 200 square foot private studio for each MFA student.


Photography and related media


This photography project allows students to participate in the expanded field based on the practice of artistic lens, critically doubt and deepen their creative research in a vibrant group of artists. Photography is a constantly changing field with a short and turbulent history. It has a huge and growing relevance in today's changing cultural and social background. We support our students to hone their critical awareness, skills and concepts in the process of independent experiments, and position themselves with their unique voice and vision in this field. The photography program provides a range of state-of-the-art digital and analog facilities and equipment.


Print reproduction


This print project takes a broad view of this field, respects tradition, and creates two-dimensional, three-dimensional and installation based works through the use of digital and sculptural means. The program encourages students to develop and clarify their philosophy and personal concepts, and translate them into visual works, to achieve these goals by providing an intensive mix of studio experience and criticism and theoretical dialogue. Printmaking studio is the most advanced facility, including a whole set of new and top equipment and printing presses. In our 10000 square foot studio, students can use intaglio printing, lithographic printing, silk screen printing, single font printing, wood engraving, handmade paper making, and contemporary photography, digital and mixed media print making processes. Enter the stellar wood studio and digital production laboratory of the art department to improve the products in the field of printmaking.

The graduate sculpture project includes and cultivates the diversity and complexity of contemporary sculpture. The project supports investigations including installations, interventions, performances, sounds, videos, new media and more traditional sculpture methods. Sculpture projects encourage independent exploration, experiment, critical awareness and participation in contemporary professional surveys of issues, forms and backgrounds. The program challenges and expands the basic principles and working modes of graduate students. In a flexible project, each student has the opportunity to express his or her own views and make significant contributions to the subject.


The sculpture facility covers a total area of 10000 square feet and is divided into MFA and BFA students' personal studios, general class work areas, carpentry areas, welding areas and metal processing areas. The facility also includes a separate room for experimental work such as installations. The equipment includes welding and metalworking tools and machinery, woodworking tools and machinery, video and sound equipment, and computer laboratories for digital imaging, sound and video production.
