There are many students who want to study art in the United States and apply for the major of graphic design in the United States. This article will introduce graphic design in detail for everyone who wants to study art in the United States. Students who want to apply for studying art in the United States might as well have a look. I believe it will play a certain reference role for everyone.

Graphic design studies how visual communication is created and perceived. Graphic designers design a wide range of products, from books to multimedia products, including CD packaging, film title design, icons, web pages, and so on.

Graphic design is a highly practical major. Generally, there are 15 to 25 students in a small class. The homework assigned by the tutor is usually open. Each time you finish your homework, you should show it to your teachers and classmates. Extracurricular activities include exhibitions, auctions of visual art works, masquerade parties, design competitions, etc. The graphic design major in many universities will have a project connection with the design company, so excellent students will be recommended by the tutor, so that you can smoothly enter the job.

Because graphic design covers a wide range, the teaching content and emphasis of each university will be very different. If you want to enter the advertising industry in the future, you'd better choose a graphic design major covering additional courses, such as marketing, customer analysis, advertising copywriting, media theory, etc. If you want to work in time-based media and interactive media in the future, you should take scenario board, computer language script, sound editing, and interface design as options. If your career orientation is planning and strategic development, you also need to choose a graphic design major covering relevant courses, such as team problem solving, system analysis, business writing, management, communication, and information theory.

For international applicants, the application materials of graphic design for studying abroad in the United States are similar to each other, mainly including personal statements, letters of recommendation (generally three letters), resumes, university transcripts, application forms, application fees, language scores and collections of graphic design works. Whether GRE scores are required depends on the individual requirements of the school. Comprehensive universities require more GRE scores, but in most cases there is no minimum requirement.
