In my four years of college, I majored in photography. Photography is actually a special kind of art discipline. In fact, there are no photographic works in the strict sense in my works. I want to integrate multiple ideas into the whole process of building the works from scratch, not just the presentation of images. The second project, The thing on the doorstep, is my most satisfied work. It is a group of still life sculpture projects. I took photos of some old objects placed unconsciously by residents outside the door, and made them into handmade paper sculptures with their images, which were finally presented in separate loose leaf magazines.
The whole work is smooth from inspiration to production, but in the final presentation mode, my teacher and I have studied for a long time. My original idea was to make a flat presentation effect, but during the discussion, we thought that the 3D form would have more visual impact, and finally determined the direction of three-dimensional paper sculpture.
In fact, I am not good at manual production, but the teacher is an art book lover. She has made many manual art books, shared a large number of art book forms at home and abroad, helped me to develop ideas, including in the production process, and also gave me a lot of suggestions on materials and colors.
In the end, I was very satisfied with the whole work in terms of theme, layout, form, presentation and other aspects.
