   #1 Professor Prak 3900


Internship is a professional experience class: this course is open to third and senior students. Students work 150-180 hours per semester and obtain three credits. They attend a two-hour night class every week. Students will learn how to conduct work research, develop interview skills, establish contacts with professionals, and make life plans after SAIC Motor Corporation.


   #2 Traditional Practice


International students at the Chicago Academy of Arts work 210 hours per semester to earn 3 credits, and are assigned a teacher consultant who will provide career advice and be responsible for awarding course credits. Traditional internship has four main components: initial seminar, personal mid-term meeting, field visit and final seminar.


Both options meet studio and/or off campus credit requirements. Professor Prak's 3900 level courses also meet the requirements of professional practice.


There are three types of compensation for study abroad internships at the Chicago Academy of Arts: 1) unpaid, 2) paid by employers, and 3) federal work research (if the employer is a non-profit organization and meets 25% of the matching requirements). The hourly rate of FWS is set by SAIC, with UG of $11.00 and GR of $11.50. Students will obtain the authorization of CapX consultant through SAIC student salary system.


   About living environment:


SAIC at the Chicago Academy of Arts does not have a complete campus boundary, which is particularly needed by every art student. Art students need to keep in touch with society and advanced technology to better serve art creation.


At the same time, SAIC has a world-famous museum - the Chicago Museum of Fine Arts.
