#2 Traditional Practice
International students at the Chicago Academy of Arts work 210 hours per semester to earn 3 credits, and are assigned a teacher consultant who will provide career advice and be responsible for awarding course credits. Traditional internship has four main components: initial seminar, personal mid-term meeting, field visit and final seminar.
Both options meet studio and/or off campus credit requirements. Professor Prak's 3900 level courses also meet the requirements of professional practice.
There are three types of compensation for study abroad internships at the Chicago Academy of Arts: 1) unpaid, 2) paid by employers, and 3) federal work research (if the employer is a non-profit organization and meets 25% of the matching requirements).
