Founded in 1925, the University is the second oldest institution of higher education in BC Province, formerly known as Emily Carr College of Art and Design, and officially became a university in 2008. The university is located on Granville Island, a beautiful island in the center of Vancouver, Canada. Its appearance is inconspicuous, like a factory building with iron corrugated boards as the wall, but it is a school that many art students aspire to. The new campus in Great Northern Way was put into use in 2017. This new campus, specially built for future creatives, thinkers and designers, is being jointly solicited by the donors, investors and builders for construction ideas from creative artists around the world.
