Ontario College of Art and Design (OCAD) is a Canadian palace level art and design university. How does OCAD apply for studying abroad? What are the application conditions?
Ontario College of Art and Design As a school with profound qualifications and full vitality, it has a mature faculty and students with extraordinary creativity. As one of the four independent public arts and design colleges in Canada that can award bachelor's degrees, Ontario Arts and Design College is the largest and oldest art and design college in higher education colleges, and has always enjoyed a high reputation in training artists and design experts. For example, Jonathan Crinion, Ken Danby, Doris McCarthy, Floria Sigismondi, Michael Snow, Don Watt and other top Canadian designers and artists are well-known alumni of the school. There are mainly two kinds of undergraduate majors in Ontario Design College: Bachelor of Design and Bachelor of Fine Arts. The specific courses under its subjects can be divided into more than ten kinds, including advertising design and art design (the school can also offer a master's degree).
In terms of admission, because OCAD focuses more on students' artistic creation ability other than cultural courses, in the application process, students may need to hand in up to 10 personal works depending on their majors in addition to the regular self recommendation letters, and will also investigate their sketch or rapid drawing ability during the interview. After passing the art test, international students will be required to provide English academic test scores, specifically IELTS 6.5 or equivalent TOEFL scores. However, students who are lower than this score may still be admitted, but the number of places in the language class is limited. Once the number of places is full, students will not be accepted.

Undergraduate application requirements
1. Minimum admission requirements for undergraduate applications outside Ontario:
High school graduation
The average score of college preparatory courses is 70% or above, TOEFL 84 or IELTS 6.5 or above
2. The admission of Studio professional degree (BFA, BDes) mainly depends on the level of your portfolio.
Admission to a BA (Visual and Critical Studies) degree depends on your writing samples and your high school grades.
All applicants must submit a creative outline, and must meet the minimum entrance requirements above.
3. After submitting your portfolio (for students applying for BFA and BDes).
Applicants can optionally participate in the portfolio assessment. Every February, in the study week of OCAD U, you can either submit an electronic portfolio (through Slide Room) or submit your writing samples (BA in visual and critical research) in the same way.
4. For professional applicants who need to submit portfolios:
The content of the portfolio should skillfully express elements such as art, design and media (it needs to prove that you are a visual communicator and you are ready to succeed in OCADU)
Forms include experiments on traditional and digital media, or any combination.
The most important part of the work collection is your creative thinking ability, and whether you can use different media to express them.
Postgraduate application requirements
1. Minimum admission requirements (applicants for any postgraduate major must meet the minimum admission requirements)
The official language designated by OCADU is English. When the applicant's first language is not English, the applicant needs to achieve a satisfactory score. The following are the specific language requirements and relevant specifications.
Only those who have completed the TOEFL 84 or IELTS 6.5 or above language test within 12 months can be recognized by the school.
