College Profile

All degrees awarded by the Kent Institute of Art and Design in the UK are recognized by the University of Kent (located in Canterbury) and have the same status as the diplomas of any university in the UK recognized by the government. The college also offers preparatory courses and national diploma courses to enable students to obtain the qualification to enter a British university for a degree or a national higher technical school diploma course (HND). Students who have successfully completed the preparatory or national diploma courses in the University are guaranteed to be admitted by the College to study degree courses.


The specialist courses of Kent College of Art and Design prepare students for careers in the field of art, design or architecture. Teachers of the college are all art and design practitioners in their respective professions. Teaching methods include group counseling, workshop seminars and formal lectures. The purpose of teaching is to maximize students' creativity and self-confidence. On site creation, work practice, exhibition and selection activities all enrich students' learning experience. Kent College of Art and Design is one of the largest colleges in Europe. It was founded in Kent, southeast England. The entry age of undergraduate students is generally about 18 years old. Before entering the undergraduate course, domestic high school graduates need to take a one-year preparatory course. In the past 30 years, Kent College of Art and Design has been at the forefront of academic development of film subjects. It is one of the three major film schools in the UK and one of the most valued departments in Europe. Kent's film studies include the breadth and history of the film industry, from the classic silent films to mainstream Hollywood films to the world film world and avant-garde. MA Film (Paris)


The MA Film (Paris) project of Kent College of Art and Design enables you to study MA in Canterbury and Paris. You will spend your first semester on the beautiful Canterbury campus, which has excellent academic and recreational facilities. The spring semester will be in the Paris campus, in the center of the historic Montparnasse, where you will participate in teaching units focusing on Paris, teaching English as the language. Next, in the last semester, you will complete your MA course by writing a 15000 word academic paper. The paper topic will be generated through the collaboration of your academic tutor.

Students in Paris will have access to classic and modern film screening, and will have access to the scientific research facilities of the Paris Film Museum and the Film Museum.
