Does BCA need a portfolio? You do not need a portfolio to enter the Boston Institute of Architecture. However, the College strongly encourages anyone who can submit a portfolio to assist the College in evaluating your performance before starting the BAC degree program. If you choose to submit your portfolio, it is best to submit it as soon as possible after applying for admission. If you want to apply for transfer credits in the design category, you need to have a collection of works to grant credits.

BCA encourages you to send your portfolio digitally. Files smaller than 7 mb can be emailed to your registration advisor. For files larger than 7 mb, use wetransfer. com

Guidelines for Submitting Collections
◾ Collections must be no larger than 11 "x 17" and no smaller than 8.5 "x 11".
◾ Clearly mark the outside of the portfolio with your name.
Each describes each image with a short title to explain your idea. Three dimensional works shall be represented by photos. No models, slides, disks or CDs are accepted.
Only sends only replicas. Never send originals.
◾ Include copies of preliminary sketches and diagrams to document the entire design process.
Academic works are arranged in chronological order. For each project included, please determine the school, semester and school year, studio level and project time to participate in the studio.
◾ Divide your work into sections that reflect the source: academic, professional, and/or personal.
◾ When submitting a team project (studio or specialty), make sure your role is clearly identified.
Note the deadline for submission. It is important to note that all placement decisions are made only at the time of admission. You can only re evaluate your display location by contacting the Admissions Office.
BAC of BCA will not send the works to students. Despite great efforts to handle students' homework carefully and safely, BAC will not be responsible for lost or damaged items.
