   International student housing (ISH):

Affordable accommodation for students from various universities and institutions

It provides dormitories, three people, two people and a single bedroom. It is only 5 minutes away from the college from Great Portland Street. Due to the high demand, the process was applied directly at the beginning of April

There are also many other private halls – you can find more details in the Royal College of Music's accommodation guide.

Student dormitories and apartment buildings are a popular choice, especially for first-year students - the monthly rent includes utilities, and some dormitories also provide meals, so it is easier to budget. These options are usually oversubscribed, so in order to maximize the chances of success, they apply to multiple options - the earlier the better. Applications are usually open in April, but please check the deadline for each place you want to apply.

   Accommodation and host families

Accommodation and homestay families involve renting a bedroom or part of a house from the owner, who also lives there. Common space is usually shared. These accommodations are usually short-term, giving you greater flexibility. Prices usually include bills and utilities to make budgeting easier.

House sharing is similar to accommodation and host families, but you will live with other people (usually not the owner). The bill is sometimes included in the price, but you may have to pay it separately. You should also check to see if things like municipal taxes (local taxes) and TV licenses are included. Generally, if everyone living in your house is a student, you will not have to pay municipal tax, and the college will provide you with a tax exemption certificate.

If you want to find a room in September, you should start searching at the end of July/early August.

   Private accommodation

Some students choose to rent private accommodation with friends. Register with the local real estate agent, and then start looking for the September arrival date in late July/early August.
