After graduating from the undergraduate Chinese language and literature program, she chose to change her major to re study the undergraduate clothing design program. She insisted on her own ideas and finally got the support of her parents. She thanked the natural light clothing design teacher for never "doing it for her" but always insisting on "Learn by Doing It". She is our case sharer today. She got an offer from LCF/London Fashion College and created a collection of in-depth clothing design works. She also has profound thoughts on life and art study abroad - Hu Hu.
"I choose Art study abroad It is not for the purpose of 'gilding'. The next best tree was ten years ago, followed by now. "—— Hu Hu
Different national cultures are her inspiration, and her "reflection" on the times gives her profound ideas. At the same time, she also took the novel as the starting point, and used costume design to explore the thinking of women's life.

To prove by action that I didn't get support from my parents by surprise
In fact, I had the desire to learn fashion design in high school, but my family did not understand my idea very well at that time, thinking that I might be a temporary hobby, so they did not support me very much. For various reasons, I had never received real art training before I went to study in natural light, and it was impossible for me to take the art examination and enter the university to study art.
Before going to college, I lived a high school life like most students, studying, reviewing and reading normally. After that, he also took the college entrance examination normally, and successfully entered the Central University for Nationalities to study Chinese language and literature. So far, I have successfully graduated, and I have obtained a bachelor's degree in Chinese language and literature.

Compared with most Art Design For basic students, I should count as zero basis. I know it's really difficult, but during my college years, I made a detailed plan and set goals for myself.
It was a long struggle, but in the end, I also proved that I didn't want to go abroad on a whim. But I have really considered it very clearly, and I have also done the initial understanding. So after communicating with my parents for many times, I also got their support. "

Rereading an undergraduate degree is true to yourself
When considering the application, I made a decision that may be completely different from what you think—— Reread undergraduate degree 。
Most students will directly start their postgraduate studies after finishing their undergraduate studies. Even if it is a major change, it is basically a direct transfer from undergraduate to professional application for graduate students.
The reason why I made this decision is also my plan after careful consideration. To me, Studying abroad is not "gilding" I really hope to learn something.

Before the end of my undergraduate period, I had almost no contact with art, and my subject had nothing to do with art. I had no foundation before, so it was impractical for me to apply directly for graduate students. I hope to start from scratch and study art in a down-to-earth manner.
Therefore, I chose to apply for another undergraduate course. I don't think age is a problem. The best time to plant a tree is ten years ago, followed by now. If conditions permit, it is never too late to learn what you want to learn and do what you want to do.

Learn by Doing It. "Growth" is painful, but the harvest is always joyful
When I was working on my first portfolio project, it was actually my most painful time.
I didn't know nothing about fashion design before, but I really didn't know anything about collections of works. When I communicated with the teacher, the teacher explained to me again and again, but to be honest, I still don't know exactly what to do with a collection of works.
I don't know how to do the collection of clothing design, how to do it well, and how to set the layout and think about the design and links. It was not until I produced my first project under many difficulties that I got a general understanding of the collection of works.
I always agree with a way of learning: "Learn by Doing It." No amount of WeChat push and Zhihu answer can make people learn fashion design or make collections. Only by really doing can we.
One of the things I most appreciate about the natural light clothing design teacher is that she never helps me start or does it for me
In the portfolio course and when making portfolio, I especially thank my portfolio teacher for not giving me the cold shoulder because of my poor painting; I didn't give up because it took me a long time to get into the state.
I am very grateful to her, but what I am most grateful for is that she has "never started to do anything for me". She has always been very patient, relying on tireless inspiration and guidance, and accompanied me to complete a collection of works. For me, this is very important.

The Creation Process of Hu Hu's Costume Design Collection
I think that if the teacher did it for me, for example, when I couldn't solve some problems, she would do it for me, her work would be easier in fact, and the final effect would be better, but for me, I might not learn anything.
So I thank her for her patience and persistence. She never tires of explaining to me, taking me through the project again and again, communicating and communicating with me every time I review, and discussing my project and ideas together, Guide me to do it myself, so that I can really get something 。
I am very grateful to her for giving me a chance to prove myself that students with zero foundation can do well on their own.
When encountering bottlenecks, don't be anxious to doubt the teacher, and first reflect on yourself
Another experience I want to share with you is: Trust your teacher 。
When you feel that the progress is not smooth and you encounter a bottleneck, don't worry about the teacher's teaching or the organization. First ask yourself: have you finished your homework; Did you follow the teacher's requirements and standards; Did you try your best.
If the teacher thinks that it is necessary to draw fifteen pictures to achieve the desired effect, but you only draw five pictures, it is not the teacher's problem if the desired effect is not achieved.

I think that in the process of making a portfolio, the role of teachers is not just "the person who imparts knowledge", but more often, the role they play is actually "the person who provides advice".
Because there is no standard answer to the collection of works, there is no absolutely correct practice. It is not like mathematical equations. Maybe solving problems is done step by step, and the final result is the same for everyone. The collection of works is not. Our personal thoughts and thinking create our personal collection of works.
The teacher does not need a unified standard in teaching, but uses guidance and suggestions. At the same time, we also need to learn to think and choose independently. Sometimes the suggestions given by the teacher are based on her relatively rich knowledge, experience and vision. Before we adopt the teacher's suggestions, we still need our own judgments and practical tests.
My personal opinion is that it is impossible to finalize the first draft. People who can do this have a low probability of being a genius, and the probability of the final work being of low quality is very high. But if you really don't like experiments and work changes, you may need to reassess whether your professional choice is correct, or you will have a long time to go.
Collection of works is very important, but the interview should also be highly valued
My interview experience is quite amazing. In retrospect, I suffered mainly in two aspects:
English is not good;
Not clear about their professional direction
The interviewer didn't ask any questions about my portfolio. When I opened the door of the interview room, I was sure that the interviewer's eyes were full of "consolidation!", and she looked really happy.
However, with the countless "pardon?" caused by my poor hearing, the stars in her eyes went out. The interviewer explained to me why she didn't offer me an undergraduate offer. One of the reasons was that she thought it would be difficult for my English level to directly enter the undergraduate intensity study.

Another reason is that I'm really not sure what major I want to study. Even if I have a general direction, my goal is still not clear enough. The interviewer thought that I had "Great Potential" in all directions, but still suggested that I plan carefully and think clearly during the preparatory period.
I would like to give you three suggestions about the interview experience:
1. Collection of works is the most important. Personally, my English is even worse, but I also got an offer at level 4;
2. It is also good to listen to English when doing things. Don't give up treatment completely;
3. If you apply for a bachelor's degree or above, you must have a clear understanding of your chosen major and be able to express your ideas and understanding in English
The above is all my thoughts and feelings about returning to undergraduate studies in art and getting the offer of Lunshi Fashion Design. Finally, I wish everyone can get the offer of the ideal school.
