Columbia College of Art in Chicago needs to submit your portfolio for admission.
Although a portfolio is not required to enter Columbia College Chicago, remember that submitting a portfolio qualifies you for a talent based scholarship! You can submit digital combinations or video auditions for consideration in the following ways.
● Submit work that follows the guidelines for your profession or field of study. Work in other disciplines will not be considered. You can find detailed guidelines by specialty below.

Art History
Submit 5-10 pages of non fiction writing samples, such as research papers or class papers.
Audio Design and Production
Write an article with a length of no more than two pages, entitled "My interest in audio, music technology and/or acoustics and the source and nature of my personal participation". Don't tell us about audio, tell us about yourself.
In addition, provide a list of live sound reinforcement or installation projects that you have participated in, identifying and describing the key challenges you face.
Comedy writing and performance
Submit a complete resume of the drama history, including the name of the performance, role play and the place of the performance.
Submit a video audition of 60 to 90 seconds of original or existing material and/or up to 5 pages of comedy writing.
Fashion Research
The following requirements relate to the concentration of commodity sales and product development in the Bachelor of Fashion Studies program.
● Submit a digital combination in PDF format with no more than 10 annotated pictures, which show how you participate in fashion as an industry or a creative practice. In the notation, please explain that you want us to understand your interests or practices from each picture.
● Welcome to include various media and topics in the image, and invite you to show your participation process - that is, how you engage in research and investigation, ideas, development, and understanding of your work - as well as the final results of your participation. These images can include painting, modeling, visual marketing, product planning, fashion writing, color research, material survey, 2D and 3D design and development, architecture, illustration, sketch, painting, digital media (including website development, photography or fashion show) and clothing.
When reviewing your collection of works, we attach importance to originality, creativity, critical thinking, clear explanation of your industry or participation in creative practice, and display clear design aesthetics or consumer goals.
Film production
● Write a short (about 500 words) personal reflection article about your creative process and what you have done so far, whether in film, writing, visual arts or other creative fields. What we are most interested in is your creative process, your ideas, and your insight into your own works. In addition, discuss your goals, what you hope to learn in Film Academy, and how you envision applying it to your future work or career.
Suggested topic: share with us what you are satisfied with in your creative work, and recognize areas that need further development. If you write about a particular project, be sure to explain your role in any collaborative project and your insight into the process that makes collaboration possible. In addition, if your work comes from another source, please take the time to help us understand the unique or new perspectives you bring to the project.
● Submit a collection of works (a short film or video (seven minutes at most), a short script (20 pages at most), or 8-10 photos/drawings), provide supplementary views in your article, supplement or explain your reflection.
Fine Arts
Submit representative creative works of 10-15 images, combining multiple media and themes. Samples can include paintings, prints, paintings, digital media, sculptures, ceramics, jewelry, furniture, and 3D objects. ● Make 10-15 high-quality recordings of sound effects, and edit and process them properly. Each recording can be up to 10 seconds long and should be in a common file format.
● Any modified game (MOD) with original sound effects and/or music candidates. Each MOD can last up to 1 minute.

● The original game of pictures, screenshots, or videos is in the format you choose (for example, 2D, 3D, mobile, desktop, physics, cards, etc.). The size of the game doesn't matter

Graphic Artist Designer
The following requirements are related to the concentration of publication design and web design in BA program of graphic design.
Submit 10-15 pictures of representative creative works, and show your interest and skills in design through typesetting, application drawing, information design, brand logo, web page graphics, packaging, advertising design and publication design. Submissions may include drawings, figures, web pages, motion graphics and experimental designs. Your sample work may represent classroom assignments as well as independent projects. Please include a brief description of the material and size of the work.
Illustration
Submit 10-15 of your best works in a variety of media and themes, which may include drawing, printing, digital, web and motion graphics. Work samples should represent classroom assignments and independent projects. Whenever possible, work samples should show paintings of life or imagination, not photos. Please be sure to include the dimensions of your work and each image described in one to three sentences.
Interaction design
The following requirements relate to user experience, graphic design, intelligent interface and Web and mobile development center in the interactive design BA program.
Submit three to five work examples you have created, as well as a document focusing on reflection on the submission, experience, and process.
Suggested working examples:
● The sketch, wireframe or prototype image of the project under development clearly shows your process and working method.
● Interactive online work (screenshots, URLs, titles and brief descriptions of works)

Interior building
Submit 10-15 pictures of your most creative works to prove your ability and interest, especially in indoor space; Please make sure to include the size of your work and a short description of each picture. Please submit your collected past projects or images to show ideological evidence about space, human interaction, materials, graphics/signs, furniture, lighting, etc. If you have worked on internal projects in the past, please include perspective views, drawings/sk images. Etching, and examples of materials.
