Finland Academy of Fine Arts (Finnish Kuvataideakatemia) was founded in 1848 by the Finnish Art Society, a private foundation. At that time, the school was called Painting School. The Finnish Academy of Fine Arts provides the highest level of theoretical and practical education in the field of fine arts in the country. In early 1993, the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts was officially upgraded to a university. The university provides higher education at undergraduate, master and doctoral levels. In the "Main Admission Procedure", students are selected to complete 5.5 years of bachelor's and master's degrees. Applications are accepted every year.
In the master enrollment of the Academy of Fine Arts, students are selected to complete a two-year course and obtain a master's degree. Applications are accepted every year. Through a separate selection process, students of the two-year practice - Master of Exhibition Studies program were selected. The next application period will be announced soon. Students who have completed a higher university degree or have the same ability in the relevant fields are eligible to apply for a four-year postgraduate program to pursue a doctorate in fine arts. One year tuition : Since August 1, 2017, the Finnish Academy of Fine Arts has begun to charge tuition fees for foreign students outside the EU. Both undergraduate and graduate students are 5000 euros per year. International students who entered before 2017 still enjoy the tuition free policy.
