It is the world's top film professional school and enjoys a high reputation in the world. The teaching philosophy of the British National Film Academy is elite teaching. The school is small and only enrolls graduate students worldwide. President Nick Powell won the European Best Film Achievement Award in 1983 for his production of "The Crying Game". Famous alumni animator Nick Parker and director Michael Redford won Oscar awards.

Based on the principle of elite education, the British National Academy of Film and Television is a small school with about 100 faculty members. However, only 80 lucky applicants can be admitted because of excellent application videos. In NFTS, more than 90% of teaching is not spoken in the classroom, but done on the set. By February 9, 2020, alumni of the National Academy of Film and Television (NFTS) had won 13 Oscar Awards and 145 BAFTA Awards.
