Vanderbilt University School of Music Vanderbilt University, School of Music, the music library was founded in 1947, in the Social Religion Building of Beaufort College. In 1970, the library was removed. In 1985, the school established a music library in the Blair Conservatory of Music. In 2001, the library doubled and was named after a major donor, Anne Potter Wilson (the granddaughter of Myra Jackson Blair).

Collection requirements

Video submission and audition process before the show


  • In the Blair School of Music application, all Blair applicants need to create and upload pre filtered videos. All videos must contain appropriate audition tracks

  • All video submissions must include each selected consecutive unedited performance; It is acceptable to switch between move/select.

  • All pre filtered videos with sound must be recorded with piano accompaniment.

  • For all other instrumental pre screening videos, piano accompaniment is optional.

  • For video, it is very important to provide clear visual and audio effects. Please make sure you can clearly see you as a performer and record in a quiet space so that your performance can be heard clearly.

  • Examples of video recording space before screening include: school music rehearsal space, family space, church, etc.

  • Examples of recording devices for pre filtered video include: cameras you own, cameras provided by schools, smart phones, etc.
