Students of landscape architecture learn to study the site, development ideas and shape space through intuitive analysis models and drawing methods.

  Teaching opportunities


RISD provides graduate students with opportunities to develop teaching skills by participating in reviews as reviewers or jurors. During the Wintersession, the postgraduate students in school were invited to provide the students on campus with seminars designed by themselves. In the past, the focus of these seminars was on contemporary natural theory, environmental art, eastern and western concepts of nature and design, and so on.

Throughout the course, students will learn art and science based exploration, experimental research and practice. In the last year, the students' thesis project will ask key questions in landscape design.


This paper provides an opportunity for students to develop a visual and written language that clarifies their interests and future direction as practitioners. Students construct their own questions, apply a variety of survey and experimental methods, and promote the field by creating new knowledge. All landscape architecture students will also participate in the RISD Research Papers Exhibition, a large public exhibition held at the Rhode Island Convention Center.

Application form (application fee of $60), undergraduate degree, portfolio, personal statement, recommendation letter (three letters), Writing sample, language score (IELTS 6.5, TOEFL 93), Video Essay, SAT score is not required this year.
