As computing plays an important role in the discipline of the School of Architecture, all students entering the school must have a portable, network ready personal computer that can run software suitable for their academic courses. We provide financial assistance to help students buy computers. No student will be denied admission to Texas A&M University because they cannot buy a computer.
In addition to academic courses, each student must complete an approved internship with the contractor's full time practical work experience, or complete an internship in construction related work activities.

The mission of the Bachelor of Landscape Architecture (BLA) course is to enable students to become professional landscape architects in the practice of private and public sectors. We foster creative and critical analysis of a learning environment, centered on evidence-based design principles. This approach is based on knowledge of the natural and architectural environment and how humans interact in various cultural environments. Our BLA graduates use this knowledge to generate spatial solutions at multiple scales, from site design to land use planning. This creative process aims to promote human health and social, economic and environmental sustainability. The project is committed to cultivating graduates with lifelong learning ability who can work independently and lead interdisciplinary teams in the field of landscape architecture.
Graduates of BLA programs are ready to work in private practice companies and federal, state, or local government agencies in the field of landscape architecture, engineering, architecture, or planning. After graduation, plus two years of practical experience, students are qualified to engage in professional or graduate education in landscape architecture or related fields.

The mission of the Bachelor of Visual Science is to participate in and develop students' visual, intuitive and analytical abilities through scientific and aesthetic issues surrounding the application of technology in visual communication. In order to complete its mission, the project needs innovative spirit and technical understanding to adapt to the changing needs of the visual industry served by the departmental project.
This course integrates elements such as art, 3D design, scientific inquiry and digital technology, and provides a wide range of educational experience. The core of the program is the studio experience, which explores the relationship between theory and practice, and uses traditional and electronic media through various exercises and projects. Texas A&M University needs a semester in junior year, and then a proposal from the head supervisor and a studio in senior year. Extensive targeted elective courses enable students to gain in-depth understanding in a professional field.
Graduates of this project are prepared to become skilled artists, designers and/or tool manufacturers, able to use interactive and direct media. Employment opportunities can be found in user interface and web design, the entertainment industry (game design and development, animation and visual effects), as well as in areas where modeling and simulation, data analysis and other visualizations can help to understand. Alternatively, graduates can enter graduate programs that emphasize digital media in computer science or art/design. Two such courses, Master of Science in Visualization (MS) and Master of Fine Arts in Visualization (MFA), are provided by the Department of Visualization, Texas A&M University.

Academic policy
The major of architectural science, environmental design, architectural research, landscape design, urban planning and visualization in Texas A&M University: students must obtain grade C or higher in each course (ARCH, liberal arts, CARC, COSC, Ends, Land, LDEV, URPN, VIST) of the School of Architecture to meet the degree requirements. Students must also achieve a grade of C or higher in any course in place of a degree eligible architectural college course. All majors of the college require students to maintain a GPR of 2.0 or higher; Texas A&M College does not provide academic probation.
