My name is Gabriella Mussurakis. In June 2018, I obtained London School of Communication BA Education and Visual media (London College of Communication). During the three years of study and life, I worked with many creative companies in London and Greece. Fortunately, in this process, I learned how to balance the relationship between work month study. At present, I am working with A&R to design visual effects for singer Jack Bruley and his new album to be released.

LCC illustration design is a practical and commercial course. In order to explore the relevant theories and examples of illustration in visual media, most of the students' courses are carried out in the creative studio specially configured by the school. The college encourages students to create illustrations that can resonate with the public, constantly explore the future of art and design, and actively redefine the meaning and role of illustrations.
LCC's illustration style is different from that of other art schools. It guides students to organically combine illustration with advertising, graphic design and publications. The major of illustration has been established since the first year Basic courses of printing, photography and printmaking In the next two years, students are encouraged to do more visual experiments, explore different fields, and develop their own visual language and design thinking.
Q: Can you introduce your major?
I learned illustration and visual media. This is a course on image design, which covers a wide range, so it gives us a lot of creative freedom. I can explore any form of Traditional painting, video, animation, photography, mixed media Etc.
Our undergraduate study lasts for three years, and each year has different purposes: the first two years are more experimental and practical, and we are encouraged to use all relevant equipment accessible to the university to create.
In the third year, our focus is on the thesis and the final graduation design.

Q: Can you tell me about your group project?
In the first year and the second year, there were some group projects, but the grouping was random, so my cooperation with the group members was not particularly tacit.
In the last year of my college life, I found a classmate who cooperated well with me and completed an animation with her. This is the real cooperation in my heart. I think good works need this cooperation.
Q: Can you introduce the best works you have done in the university?
Among LCC illustration professional works, the most satisfying one is the animation I created with my classmates in my last year of college, called "Neither Here, Nor There." This is my favorite and most satisfying work. So far, this animation has been shown in three film festivals: Los Angeles Film Festival, London Micro Film Festival and Semana Por la Soberiana. Because of this work, I was selected as the "most potential" designer by the European Art Directors' Club and included in the shortlist of the "Creative Enterprise Award" for creative entrepreneurship in universities.
Q: Have you encountered any difficulties in your study? How did you deal with it?
My main difficulty is homesickness. I have lived in the UK for 5 years, but I still miss my family for some time, although I have friends to help me all the time. But whenever I feel homesick, I always think about the reason why I decided to come to London, and tell myself that this is to follow my dream.

Gabriella Mussurakis introduced her own animation "neither here nor there", and won the future "Most Potential" award awarded by the European Art Directors Club
The design projects that Gabriella Mussurakis has participated in include:
-Design media illustration and animation-
-Create album covers and illustrations for social media-
-Barbican Centre Drama Animator-
-Koko London Stage Visual Effects Designer-
-London Advertising Design Project-
Q: Can you briefly introduce your graduation work Neither Here, Nor There?
The creative motivation of this work is to reflect the culture of my partner countries, Greece (Gabriella Mussurakis from Greece) and India (the co creative partner from India), as well as our understanding of "home". Although we are in different countries, when we go home, we all have similar experiences: I feel alienated from my family, and the inexplicable pressure when dealing with old friends.

"Not here, not there", "I" left home

I'm here, I'm not there I'm having trouble
In the cartoon, I designed the difficulties in the new environment into blue monsters, which shows my loneliness in the new environment. As for why I should write "eggs" on the monster, it is because I don't like eggs.

Not here, not there "I" begin to explore new environment
Although I have lived alone far away from my hometown for quite a long time, I still feel helpless and unsure where to call it "home". I have been away from home for too long. My hometown seems not to be my home, but London is not my home either. In my animation, I will discuss these issues, describe my experience, and show you my wandering feeling between London and my hometown.
