The four projects all come from myself, and have completely achieved the complete output of inspiration, research, experiment, design and finished products.
Due to the epidemic situation, my main portfolio projects are completed online. During the online class, I was highly self-discipline and efficient, and the online class really saved a lot of time on the road. 100% interaction with teachers in class, and finish homework as soon as possible after class . Because I cooperate with my tutor and the academic affairs teacher, I am still relieved. Ha ha. In my spare time, I will actively participate in online live classes and lectures of natural light. 3. Interdisciplinary practice, industrial design is not just cold
I have never been exposed to interdisciplinary projects before. Later, when considering applying for RCA, they always mentioned interdisciplinary practice. therefore I made an interdisciplinary project among the four projects suggested by my tutor.
Unexpectedly, the whole process was not very difficult, but presented all my concepts.

This project is inspired by the Internet, Nowadays, with the rapid development of the Internet, it gradually covers all ages. I created an artistic project with the theme of the adverse impact of the Internet on people's lives. The impact of different age groups from childhood to old age was investigated and statistically analyzed, and finally summarized concepts and solutions were proposed.
This interdisciplinary project not only enriches my collection of works, but also broadens the space, It greatly reflects my thinking and enthusiasm for industrial design 。
In most people's minds, it is generally believed that industrial design is very cold. However, this is not the case. Industrial design is not only to design products that make it easier to solve problems, but also to change life through design, and to promote social development and human progress with more designs with temperature.
Focusing on social issues and returning to life as the original intention of design
actually Social topic selection has always been a hot topic. After all, many colleges and universities mentioned how to serve the society in their application requirements . Design comes from life, but also through the skills learned to solve problems.
In my works, there are two projects related to social problems and needs. As a designer in the new era, I can not only serve enterprises, nor do I design in my own art world. So I really want to show my idea of design serving the society in my works.
My first industrial design project is about how to alleviate claustrophobia through design in a narrow space . The inspiration of this project comes from the domestic similar to Beijing, Shanghai, Guangzhou and Shenzhen. Due to the economic development of the city, a large number of foreign people flow in. Many people live in limited space, leading to claustrophobia. This device design can ease the mood and let people improve their living environment through this device.

Another project is also about humanities, which is Statistical analysis of data on contemporary tourist groups, presented through graphical visualization Beijing is the leading tourist destination in China, not only the ancient capital of the old dynasty, but also the culture of these four and nine cities has attracted many tourists at home and abroad.
I am very impressed with this project, because although I am in Beijing, I have never been to many places and never studied it. this time I visited many famous tourist attractions to collect materials, make statistics, and analyze. The field experience made me feel very meaningful , really realized my original design intention.

5. Plan and apply in advance

The whole collection process is relatively smooth. In addition to my previous background, I also have a clear plan for my future . I began to prepare after graduation from the undergraduate program. One year in advance is sufficient, so I can consolidate each step step by step. I think this is the key to success.

All aspects need time to create and practice to improve personal professional quality. Early planning and early completion of portfolio projects and applications are important for later revision details and submission.
My own language scores have passed, and my GPA is not low, This year, I was basically out of production to prepare my collection of works , and the foundation is good, so we can constantly refine every detail of the project. Later Huangyi needs to provide 2min video, so I have time to learn the operation and prepare the content. The whole video part is completed by myself, which is quite a workout!
Now I'm still in the process of applying, and there are still several colleges and universities that have failed to get results. I hope I can get the right offer!
