Heavy upgrade and return!! Together with Oscar/Annie Award nominations, Pixar editorial master Kathy Toon and the Hollywood master tutor team help students pursue their dreams!
Up to now, half of the journey has passed. In the past week, the students of Natural Light have followed the team of [Hollywood Masters] tutors to make field visits in top film and television/animation companies, carried out super high-energy teaching practices, and achieved the most systematic, international, and cutting-edge professional improvement!
Students on the other side of the world are still concerned about the epidemic situation being experienced in China. Under the leadership of the international team of first-line teachers, we have learned and created animated short films about the epidemic situation, and do our best to support the motherland with art and contribute our "animation" power to fight against the epidemic situation!

DAY 01： Fully set up animation creation process, "Hollywood style" dry goods+practical operation to make the picture "move"!
After a night of rest, the first day of the fourth New Zealand [Hollywood Masters] Animation Study Camp in 2020 was opened with the sound of birds in the morning.
The first day of the course was taught by teacher Jonathan Mafi. The students first introduced themselves in English one by one to further understand each other. The morning course mainly includes the explanation of the whole process of animation, the design of scene environment, and the use of Blender, a 3D animation production software.

Teacher Jonathan explained every knowledge point to students in simple terms; In just one morning, each student drew and designed his own scene, and immediately practiced using Blender to model the designed scene.
After a short break at noon, Teacher Jonathan's course continued, connecting the morning course and the afternoon course. Teacher Jonathan continued to lead everyone to use Blender to improve the scene modeling and coloring. Today is the first day of the course. Despite the jet lag, every student has been very serious in class, actively participated, and communicated with teachers and students in English fluently and boldly.
The last part of today's course is to make the picture "move" and learn how to use the lens. It is still to use the software Blender to set key frames in the painted scene to make 1-2 objects "move".

DAY 02： Industry seniors share their experience and creation methods, and hand in hand teach animation film production process
On the second day of the fourth New Zealand [Hollywood Masters] Animation Workshop in 2020, today's course was nominated by the Oscar/Annie Award and taught by Kathy Toon, Pixar's chief editor.

Teacher Kathy introduced her working experience in Blue Sky Studio and Pixar Animation Studio and the animation projects she participated in, including Toy Story, Rio Adventures, Horton and Anonymous, and the Oscar nominated short Borrowed Time.
In the morning class, teacher Kathy shared Pixar's story creation and role development methods, and let students create their own stories and roles on the spot. Teacher Kathy showed us the real Hollywood movie scripts and story versions.

During this period, Kathy shared her Oscar nominated best animated short film, Borrowed Time, created by Pixar's team, and her creative experience of sharing knowledge based on today's learning.
Although all teachers and students are living in the beautiful New Zealand, the other half of the earth, they are also very concerned about the epidemic situation that China is experiencing. So, on the same day, under the unanimous decision of everyone, we should make a short film about the epidemic and contribute our own "animation" power!

In the afternoon class, Kathy and each student created together and gave their own professional suggestions for their scene drawing and role creation.
Today, the students completed the story version of the short film about the epidemic. After the course ended in the afternoon, the students also broadcast live on Wuhu Station B, introducing the short film we are doing to fight the epidemic and cheering for Wuhan's friends online.
After just half an hour of online watching by 2000+kids, Zhejiang Animation Industry Association and Qianjiang Evening News reported the creation process of the short film one after another, and expressed great praise for the achievements and spirit of the students!
DAY 03： The tutor team integrated overnight to determine the final animation script, and officially established the production team!
On the third day of the fourth New Zealand Hollywood Master Animation Workshop in 2020, Miss Kathy integrated a complete script overnight based on the story version created yesterday and worked with Miss Natural Light to determine the final plan.
The students signed up for the task of short film production, and the team was officially established, with art guidance, story artists, voice actors, sound effects analysis, editors, role designers and 3D production members!

Students followed Teacher Kathy to the recording studio of Huhu Studio. Teacher Kathy also shared the recording process and anecdotes of Tom Hanks, Woody's voice voice in Toy Story. Each student tried to voice the short film to experience the learning of sound performance and recording.
Finally, after finishing today's course, Kathy also gave you authentic souvenirs around Pixar Studio, hoping to encourage you to learn animation well and enter your favorite animation company in the future.
DAY 4、 5: Visit Auckland Museum and Art Museum, learn about New Zealand culture and seek artistic inspiration
2020 The fourth day of the fourth New Zealand Hollywood Master Animation Workshop. On Saturday morning, led by the teacher of Natural Light, the students set out to the Auckland Museum to learn about the culture and spirit of New Zealand and encourage students to find artistic inspiration in history and other cultures.

The afternoon trip is the Auckland Art Museum that students have been looking forward to for a long time. It is the most important art museum in New Zealand. It has widely collected the art works of New Zealand and other countries in the world, including the paintings of Picasso, Dali, Durang, Matisse, Monterian and other famous painters. Students also felt the influence of art here.
On the fifth day of the fourth New Zealand Hollywood Master Animation Workshop in 2020, after breakfast on Sunday, the students drove to Sheep World to get close to the animals in Sheep Country.
In the afternoon, we visited the famous sculpture park in New Zealand. Students looked for inspiration from priceless works of art.
DAY 6 ： The synthesizer of Avatar was invited to the CEO's home of Huhu Studio to taste delicious food
On the sixth day of the fourth New Zealand [Hollywood Masters] Animation Workshop in 2020, today's course is also taught by Kathy Toon.
The course content is mainly aimed at the creation of students' work collections. Each student also shared their future career plans with the teacher. Kathy provided suggestions for students from the perspective of professional and college applications.
After class, after dinner, the synthesizer of King Kong and Avatar suddenly visited the class, and the students seized the opportunity to return to the class to show their collections of works and finished story versions to the God.

Everyone was very active in creating with the two tutors, preparing the final animated film works until 7:00, and then all were invited to the CEO's home of Huhu Studio to taste delicious desserts.
DAY 07： The middle and post production of the anti epidemic short film has officially started!
On the sixth day of the fourth New Zealand Hollywood Master Animation Film Workshop in 2020, the mid and post production of anti epidemic short films officially began. According to the story version you have completed, each student has contributed at least three production divisions, including conceptual design, color matching, modeling, surface treatment, binding, etc
This animation team, with an average age of 17, works as a team like a real animation artist, and is doing its best to complete the creation of animation short films in less than 10 days.
