In addition to the intersection between jewelry and us at the moment of wearing, can jewelry attract your attention or resonate in the form of "art"? Today, Natural Light introduces to you that Natural Light will apply for a student in 2019, and the Master of Jewelry Design will apply for studying in the UK. Let's see how his work collection creation experience has been offered by RCA Royal College of Art, LCF London Fashion College, and SHU Sheffield Hallam University.
CHAPTER ONE: "As a jewelry major student, I think studying abroad is the best way to 'learn' myself, so I chose natural light..."
In the first face-to-face consultation, the consultant took me to see him and then took charge of me Study abroad in jewelry design Bob, the professional teacher of the portfolio course, even if we met for the first time, although we had no communication before, I also deeply felt his professionalism and seriousness in the simple communication.
No matter the student cases he brought last year or the feedback on my current professional situation, every sentence revealed a high sense of responsibility and professionalism. I was moved by professional teachers in a very short time. So after consulting once, I immediately decided that it was natural light.
Bob had a certain understanding of me and my current professional situation during the early consultation, so Bob had made flexible arrangements and adjustments for my situation before the beginning of the initial course.
Since my major is jewelry design, Bob did not choose to teach me basic metalworking knowledge or basic art courses from scratch in the early stage, but more inclined to teach me what I lack at present - "how to think more 'interesting' and how to design better".

For example, when we were doing brainstorming and mind mapping, he would not directly tell me "Let's do a project of xxx together", but let me write 50 words intuitively first, and then we would pick out the words that can initially be used as the theme of the work collection, and then start to filter them one by one, and finally get the creative theme.
CHAPTER TWO: "Because of him, I avoided a short detour; Because of him, I feel full freedom and trust "
In the process of project production, Bob once again showed his high professionalism. He told me how to start with the theme I am facing now, from mind mapping, inspiration concept establishment, collage thinking training, to drawing sketches, making models, to the final establishment of plans and production of finished products. Bob patiently led me to complete the process step by step.
It is because of his presence that all my projects can go on smoothly. In this process, I can feel very sure that because of his support and guidance, I have avoided many detours. He will give me some "trial and error" opportunities to let me understand the whole creation process and get my own feelings, but at the same time, he helps me grasp the overall direction and not let me "deviate". Therefore, I can feel freedom and trust in the whole creation process of the collection.

In some problems that I can't solve by myself, such as the selection of materials and the determination of the overall shape, Bob will help me organize my thoughts and patiently enlighten me more often.
My first project is called<Without Right Angle>, which is about a work of Zaha, a legendary architect. The most "special" point of Zaha's design philosophy is that there is no right angle, so all her designs are completed by diagonal arcs.
I used her design concept for reference, combined with 3D printing modeling technology, and created a relatively large jewelry work. In my project, there is no right angle. The overall design is very streamlined. For one of my works, I used metal and 3D printed resin materials, combined them, and then adjusted a final color to achieve an ideal effect.

The tutor said: For the first project, we found a small problem during discussion, which is also a problem that many students are easy to make when they first started to work on the collection. It is that the priorities of the whole work are not clear. Because students may have a lot of ideas at one time and want to show them all, then the final work may be relatively flat, but there is no major "bright spot". So at this time, we started from the sketch and made some adjustments to strengthen the relationship between primary and secondary, so that the whole work can look more eye-catching.

My second project is<Apart from Jewellery>. There are three pieces in this series, namely necklaces, brooches, and rings. I combined them with the human body, and inlaid the human brain with jewelry creation techniques to express that the brain is the most important part of our human tissue.

The creation of this series also uses Matrix 3D modeling software, which uses 3D printing resin material. On the overall modeling surface, I left a hole for the gem, and finally inlaid the gem to achieve the final visual and work effect.
At the beginning, when I was working on this project, my concept was a little narrow. My thinking was relatively simple, and there was no more in-depth extension. Later, Mr. Bob helped me develop my ideas and finally achieved an ideal and deepened effect and theme.
The instructor said: After we found that there was a deviation in this project, we immediately decided to dig into the theme/concept. I also suggested that she try to make some bold changes and breakthroughs, because this project is actually combined with the concept of the human body, so we can think about whether we can do more combination with different body parts. After constant attempts, we also gradually achieved this effect.
My third project is a theme about AIDS people<Blood Truth>. In this project, I used the principle of light refraction. Because light will show different effects when it passes through colored paper of different colors, the same sentence may have different "meanings" under different light effects and angles, or even have completely opposite meanings.
So in this project, I finally made a rotatable brooch to express this idea. Through the blue color film of the brooch, we will see the original meaning of the sentence "I'm HIV positive", while when we turn to the red chest film of the brooch, we will see another sentence that has completely changed the meaning of the sentence "I'm positive".
The tutor said, "For the third project, I want to share some of my views with you from another perspective.". Many students, not only those majoring in jewelry design, feel that they don't want to try again or are afraid to try some topics that have already been done. But in fact, when doing these topics that have been done by others, you can show your attitude when observing something from your own perspective. If you play well, this is actually a bonus item.
So I especially want to tell you that every topic/theme, whether it has been done before or not, is worth trying because everyone's expression is different.
My fourth work<Useless Absorbability>is a set of brooches made to appeal to people to eat less junk food. I used transparent resin, silica gel, adhesive drop, foaming agent, 3D printing consumables and other materials to create. Finally, I combined these jewelry with real food, and wore them to complete the whole set of works.
The shell of the whole set of works is made of transparent material, so that people can see the proportion of heat, fat and protein contained in the food more intuitively.
CHAPTER THREE: "The most grateful person is my work collection teacher. Thank you for letting me know myself, jewelry specialty and how to become a designer."
In my opinion, Bob is undoubtedly the teacher who pays the most in terms of classroom environment, tools and equipment, and teaching quality in less than a year of natural light learning. Sometimes we need to catch up with the schedule or try to do some new production experiments. He always accompanies us to study until 9 p.m. or even later, so that we can better complete the production of the collection.
Finally, when the deadline for submitting the collection of works is about to expire, I will catch up with the graduation design of my undergraduate degree. In January, I need to do many things at the same time. Including graduation project opening defense, graduation project progress inspection, etc., while improving the final collection of works, we also need to shoot integrated films of works
I was even worried for a while. After seeing me, Mr. Bob said to me, "It's OK. We can do everything together." When I heard these words, my heart was really moved.
I will never forget that the night before I submitted my portfolio, Mr. Bob accompanied me all night, and we worked together to submit the final work of the portfolio. In my heart, I always think that I can get the current offers, or have some good works, without Bob's help.
Finally, I would also like to thank the teacher in charge of my work at the same time as Natural Light, Mr. Yuan of educational administration, Mr. Liu of application, and Mr. Zhao of preliminary consultation. Thank you for your concern and care. Of course, the most grateful person is my work collection teacher. Thank you for letting me know myself, jewelry specialty and how to become a designer.
